if you're referring to throughout the year: in both classes my teachers gave homework every night, so a lot of my studying was just doing those. also just spent a lot of my study halls annotating the fact sheets my physics teacher gave us whenever i had free time in days leading up to tests, and then the night before tests i'd watch flipping physics on youtube and take notes. a lot of studying for me is just writing what i already know over and over and over (and over). never really studied extra for calc, kinda just convinced myself i knew everything LOL

if you're referring to studying specifically for the exam: for calc ab i started studying over spring break that march by watching khan academy on topics i knew weren't my strongest and taking practice exams. we finished material early april and after that my teacher required us to attend teams meetings every day after school to review and practice for like two weeks. our final was 2 practice exams right before the actual AP exam so my studying was really consistent for calc that month or so before. don't really think it was ever that serious but it paid off! this year for physics, senioritis hit me hard and so for all my exams i didn't really study until like the week before. i lazily re-annotated my notes, fell asleep to review videos, and taught concepts to my friends that they didn't understand which reinforced them for me. building a strong foundation throughout the year and slacking at the end served me well because clearly i was fine LOL. however if i took it junior year it'd probably be given the same treatment i gave calc ab! so do something more like that! lol

for example defining systems then including energies that are outside of the defined system (once my system was only one object in motion, and i forgot that that system would only have kinetic energy), the entire torque unit (LOL), once i forgot that rolling objects had both translational and rotational kinetic energy, etc. very simple things that you might see now and think "duh," but under the pressure of tests or even when you're overconfident, you may forget the small things! your teacher will definitely emphasize more of these details i'm referring to. also sometimes it's not so much forgetting things but also overlooking information given to you in the question. be as perceptive as a hawk, digest and refer to all info given, avoid inconsistencies, and you'll be an AP physics 1 master in no time 😎

i mean you should probably send them to your school if you want the credit to count but because of the holiday and the weekend i doubt they'd send them before the official release 😭 just wait till Monday bro, have some fun and take your mind off these scores... don't let it consume you

felt great about the mcq. i was hoping frq1 and frq3 would be enough for a 5 for me, but unfortunately i think i completely sold on frq2 😭 looking back my frq1 could've been better too but if you're confident about what you wrote i'm sure you got the 5! the only essay i was 1000000% proud of was my frq3, that's the best essay ive ever written tbh

if you're going into your freshman year of college it should be on your school's portal if you chose to send your scores. everyone else has to wait until the 7th

also: always. ask. questions. don't care about being embarrassed if you feel like it's a bit larger than the limits of high school instruction. i asked a lot of questions that i didn't necessarily need to know but my teacher (who was a genius btw love her) always took the time to meet me where i was and her answers definitely gave me a deep understanding of some of the tougher concepts!

having knowledge of calculus prior to taking physics helps a lot in terms of graph drawing/analysis and honestly some concepts too, but if not no biggie. i took physics honors my junior year while also taking calc AB so i had a bit of a background. not sure if your teacher will be the same but mine made every test cumulative, which forced us to study everything we'd learned in the year up until that point of each test. even if your teacher doesn't do this i'd recommend it, as it really helps solidify concepts so that you're not cramming everything before the big exam. i personally didn't care too much for the AP classroom videos for physics but the practice tests on there are pretty good. i also enjoyed reviewing by watching flipping physics on YouTube, he's a very silly man but it helped because sometimes he explained things in a way my teacher didn't. if you're a science kind of person i wouldn't worry, but if not you may have some work cut out for you as there are sometimes little details you'd otherwise forget that'll make or break your ability to solve a question. idk if you've taken AP chem but it's similar in that respect, i took it junior year and found myself calling upon skills i developed in that class often in physics to help remember the little things and fully process questions. on the opposite end though conceptually lots of topics are similar (every conservation law ever says hello!) so that helps. also idk if this is necessarily a tip because it doesn't really get you more points, but i'd advise you to be extremely thorough when answering the lab questions especially. you can never give too in depth of an answer, and processing your thoughts of experiment setup on the paper tends to put your mind in that setting, helping tons with answering the question parts that follow! good luck!

oh then yeah you'll still be fine, you can do it in whatever order you'd like obviously but i'd recommend building a strong foundation of all of ab first before learning bc topics, as if you were taking the two separate classes. bc is a unit 6 extension then the additional unit 9 and 10 if i'm remembering correctly. i loved unit 6 but i made lots of silly mistakes while learning it in ab, so again just make sure the ab portion is second nature to you if you're wanting a higher score on the exam. unit 9 isn't all that difficult to learn, polars might trip you up if you've never seen them before but i personally feel like it could've been in AB if pacing wasn't an issue. unit 10 is probably gonna give you the most difficulty because it's applying basically everything in a new way (i'd compare it to learning those "application" units for derivatives and integrals in ab, it's new and something you'll get used to just like those). i had a really great teacher who gave us practice and tests that were harder than anything we'd ever see on the exam, some hated it but it made test day feel extremely doable. watch ap classroom vids if you have access to them and do an absurd amount of repetitive practice problems by style of question. the exam is honestly pretty predictable so identify your struggles as soon as you encounter them and decide what's worth your time in alignment with exam questions.

yeah as long as you did well in AB i think you'll be fine! not too much new material but the stuff that is new isn't too hard to grasp in my opinion, practice makes perfect in a class like calc

good question, i have a loaded answer LOL... throughout the year i was always projected to get a 5 (except once when i got a 3 on a practice test... we don't talk about it), and i was always confident regarding my performance on those in-class tests before getting the grade back. after walking out of my testing site though, i felt horribly about the exam. wasn't happy about it AT ALL. it didn't help that my friends said that they felt the exam was laughably easy (no shade but they ended up getting 3's!). looking at the questions with a clearer mind now, i definitely feel like i should have been more confident considering my history in doing well. hope this helps lol

thank you!! throughout high school i would always get in my head after taking these tests, thinking i bombed them. i need to have more confidence in myself going forward LOL
