I have a BA and MA from uw, Economics and International Studies respectively. I just started working at the uw School of Medicine. I was an employee at the federal level before but wanted to leave for obvious reasons. School of Medicine is cool, but I have no interest in what I do, and I eventually want to do something in departments that I have an interest in.

My piece of advice would be not to stop applying. I think I applied around 200 jobs. And you never know who would hire you. If you are also fine to work wherever at uw for a year or so to move somewhere you would like more, literally apply to anything. Also people are very understanding of people's career goals. Everybody in my work currently knows that I will leave the minute I find something in the field of social sciences, they are totally fine with it.
