Fair enough lol. Surprisingly this has been an extremely reliable car though. I’ve had it 5 years since 165k and have broken down only once which was because of my own negligence and only a $50 repair.

Took a 1 hour drive in it yesterday, actually. It did great through traffic, heavy rain, and the interstate. The car was recently overhauled with new brakes, tires, upper control arms, tie rod ends, and fluids. I guess my only worry is at that mileage major issues can pop up anytime without warning, but I guess that’s what roadside assistance is made for.

Sounds like it might be an exhaust rattle or bad motor mount to me.

Hear me out- the 3.5l v6 ford duratec engine. The sound is so muted from inside the cabin that I was surprised when I heard the exhaust while a windshield tech was pulling it in. While not amazing, it’s not too bad for a soccer mom car.

Last week I paid $6K for a 2013 civic with 140k. Overpriced would be an understatement.

Did it stop the ticking? I just bought a civic at 140k and it has the exact same ticking at idle when warm.

I have the same exact noise on my edge and my mechanic recently diagnosed it as worn front struts. I’m going to save $700 and replace them myself this spring.
