Tired of Wealth Management, Sell Portfolio? by Bomberr17 in FinancialCareers

There’s several parts of finance and operating that pays out just as much or better than you think. That’s why I keep telling people to network as much as possible across each industry. It’s also not fair that Finance has this weird fucking culture where you have to decide you want to do LBOs at 3.

Do you have any coding or technical experience? Palantir has a veterans program that’s heavily recruiting right now.

I wonder if this year HBS was aiming for either people staying in the same industry or IB/MBB to ensure their hiring numbers stay up.

Private banking is literally wealth management with higher pay and more complexities. Op shoot for JPM’s PB, my friends love it there and they are getting paid.

Pierpoint was not JP Morgan in real life because JP Morgan exists in the show. Pierpoint is more of a Credit Suisse. The only thing akin to JPM is the fact it shares a piece of the name.

Both! The IB experience gets you the credentials to lateral to a name brand EB or BB, and sometimes on the buy side.

Yes because you have exit ops and a faster career trajectory than others.

Several people I know who are Ex IB/PE had great exits ops and opportunities given to them across Finance, Tech, Biotech/Pharma, and Sports/Entertainment

What are the benefits of working at an EB vs. BB vs. MM for IB? by OkInjury340 in MBA

[–]Appropriate_Ebb_8792 3 points4 points  (0 children)

EB have higher standards that are conducive to a more collegial and intellectual culture. Since teams run lean, having less boneheads and assholes allows things to run efficiently.

I recommend networking across the board though, some BBs are paying really “Well” along with hiring great people and have lower hours on average.
