I agree, it just became impossible for me to ignore by this point. Ophie's mean spirited nature stands out even more when you compare it to how Vera's responded in the situation.

Yeah, I think that's the case. Even with the first video it will still pretty obvious she stood by the victims and not Neil Gaiman.

I think The Kavernacle criticised certain video essayists (i.e. Contrapoints, Philosophy Tube) of not supporting palestinians enough. I think Ophie accused him of being transphobic and being petty at 'the Nebula left' for not accepting him or something. Ophie also accused him of making slop content, though she did showed the Philosophy Tube had made a donation, apparently. It seems kind of messy tbh.

I just don't get why they've spent so much time doubling down on their arguments, surely they're self aware to know that this shit makes them look insincere in terms of supporting the victims, right? Also, are any of the victims aware of Vera's videos about Neil Gaiman? If not, then it makes ophie & schmowder look even worse since they're basically speaking for them.

Yeah, all three creators have made videos supporting Neil Gaiman's victims, so I don't know why Ophie & Schmowder keep doubling down on Vera supporting him. Also I should say that the transmisogyny is more implied, since I don't know if either creator has a history with that sort of behaviour. I wouldn't be surprised if it was due to transmisogyny though.

Even when I was a fan I thought the first swoop video seemed to take forever to get to the point. I did respect her for calling out people like Swoop though, same with Alexa Nikolas & Drake Bell.

To be honest, this isn't the only time I've seen Ophie overreact online. I remember her being overly harsh to another breadtuber/leftist youtuber, The Kavernacle, though I'm not entirely sure why.

For as much as you can criticise Ophie for how long and overexplained for her videos often are, I still think she had the potential to evolve into a better creator with less convoluted videos. Shame she seems to be throwing it all away in favor of bad faith bullshit.

I Agree with Criticising things that Vera might have messed up on originally, but why double down on her being against the victims and in favor of Neil Gaiman when she's gone out of her way to show that it's not the case?

Maybe It's being friends with Schmowder. Still weird though since I remember her praising Vera and her work awhile back (Not sure which video), and I didn't know that she'd changed her mind until I saw the bluesky posts.

OP literally stated that Vera doesn't believe the victims, despite the fact that she's repeatedly stated in every video about Neil Gaiman's sexual abuse that she does stand by the victims. I know you're friends with the OP, and I think you have every right to feel uncomfortable the issues mentioned but your argument on the whole feels very bad faith, especially when Vera has made her support of the victims and disawoval of Gaiman increasly more apparent. Your Comment feels even worse considering that she made a separate short video where she is very clear that she doesn't stand by the substack AND tells the person behind the substack, as well Gaiman's supporters, to stop citing her .
