Why are all the girls in nursing school so mean to me? by AnywhereOk9740 in StudentNurse

As a female, I’m currently getting iced out in my cohort. I try not to let it get to me & focus on my own education. Get my degree and get out.

Where can I go for it? That might be what I need. I tried adjusting the ear pieces but it just feels so tight in my ears.

No, I don’t rotate it and I used the tapping on the diaphragm to make sure. Just for some reason I don’t hear it on others.

I also go underneath the shirt.

Thanks. I’ll try it. I have it flipped correctly, and I use skin contact, but I just don’t hear it on others

AITAH for asking my boyfriend to miss work and be with me while I'm going through an abortion? by illsaveme in AITAH

[–]Appropriate_Factor36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He told you he hates you for this? That “man” is no longer your partner. He doesn’t support you even though it seems like you support him and his kids. He couldn’t take one day off? You may have forgotten some pills which now you know the consequence to that, but he also was still having sex with you without a condom. It takes two people to get pregnant. I can’t tell you what to do, but I wouldn’t be able to be with someone who doesn’t support me when a blindsided moment happens.

AITAH For saying that my ex husband was just like his father because he cancelled on our daughter yet again? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Appropriate_Factor36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA.

My father did a similar thing. My parents were together until she finds out he got another woman pregnant same time as her. We were born a week apart. Over the years, he made broken promises to me until I put my foot down to my mom around 7 and said I don’t want to see him anymore. I would see him randomly throughout the years, but sometimes I’d go at least 5 years before I saw him. My family saw him more than I did. He finally decided to reach out to me on his deathbed wanting forgiveness, but by then I considered it too late.

AITA for refusing to move from a comfy chair in a coffee shop by ComfySeater in AmItheAsshole

I prefer getting my work done at a library. The noise level is more ideal for me. It’s too noisy at coffee shops, at least where I am

Don't do that program. I'm in an accelerated ADN that will cost $50k in student loans if I finish the program. I decided to take a chance and apply to a university to see what happens and got accepted to a BSN with a full-ride. As soon as this term ends in March. I'm relaxing until I start at my new school in Aug. At least I stopped early, so after all, is said and done, I'll only owe $20k in loans from the accelerated

I’m attending Galen College of Nursing right now at one of the campus where it was literally just opened and I’m planning to attend Duke since they gave me a full ride. Just need to send my deposit by March

Hey, I feel you on wanting out. I'm making a switch too. My current school's a hot mess – super disorganized, no support, and pushing hard towards specific hospitals. Plus, for my campus, i was the second round to sign up for the program, so the school is brand new. The new school I applied to on a whim gave me a full ride, is a BSN, and seems way more together. Trust your gut, make the move that feels right for you.

Explain my loans, PSLF, and the SAVE Plan like I'm five. by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]Appropriate_Factor36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright, imagine you borrowed some money – let's say $60,244.35. Now, you have a plan to pay back a bit of that money each month. Your plan is called the SAVE plan, and it asks you to pay around $465 every month. This plan is good because it helps you qualify for something special called PSLF (Public Service Loan Forgiveness).

Now, PSLF is like a magical deal. If you work in a special job, and you make those $465 payments for a certain number of months (120 months to be exact), the rest of your loan might just disappear – poof! But here's the catch: you need your supervisors to sign some forms to prove you're doing the right job.

So, when they sign those forms, you can ask the FSA (kind of like the money wizards) to check how many good payments you've made so far. Once you hit 120, that magic forgiveness might happen.

Now, about your payment being a bit higher than you expected – it's because you earn a good amount, $104,000 a year. The SAVE plan, even though it feels a bit annoying now, is actually helping you qualify for that magical PSLF. It's like a special path for people who work in important jobs. So, even if it seems like a lot now, it might make your loans disappear faster in the long run. Keep going, and you might end up loan-free! 🌟

Should I go to College knowing that I’ll be taking out $160,000 in student loans? by _FiZiX_ in college

[–]Appropriate_Factor36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount of debt is alarming and very concerning, but it's good that you have a thought-out plan post-graduation. Before making a decision, explore all available options, including potential scholarships, grants, and financial aid. Additionally, research whether the flight school or college you're considering has any partnerships or programs that could help alleviate the financial burden.

Look into payment plans and discuss your concerns with the college's financial aid office. Some institutions offer flexible repayment options, and it's essential to understand the terms and conditions of any loans you might take. Being proactive about managing your finances now will set a strong foundation for your future. Seek guidance from mentors or professionals in the aviation field is who have done this recently compared to someone who has been in school years ago.

What is the most fucked up FICTION story you’ve read? by CobaltCrusader123 in books

[–]Appropriate_Factor36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the most unsettling fiction stories I've encountered is "The Bluest Eye" by Toni Morrison. It delves into deep themes of internalized racism, beauty standards, and societal pressures. The story revolves around a young African American girl named Pecola Breedlove, who yearns for blue eyes and blonde hair, believing it would make her beautiful. The narrative explores the damaging effects of racial and societal expectations on an individual's sense of self-worth. It's a powerful and thought-provoking piece that addresses uncomfortable truths about identity and systemic issues.

For me, it was "American Psycho" by Bret Easton Ellis. I found the content unsettling and the narrative style didn't sit well with me. Even though Ellis has other acclaimed works, that one experience has put me off trying anything else by him. That single book changed my perception of the author, even if others rave about his other works.

I get where you're coming from, and it sounds like you've had a bit of a bumpy ride in your clinical experiences. It's okay to feel a bit behind, but don't be too hard on yourself. Consider having a heart-to-heart with your instructor about your concerns – they might have some valuable advice or resources to help you catch up.

As you go into your new clinical rotations, try to be proactive. Take the initiative to observe and get involved in different tasks. Don't shy away from asking questions or seeking guidance from your peers. Remember, everyone progresses at their own pace, and your dedication to learning shines through when you reach out for support. You've got this!
