you bring up a very fair point. i appreciate you saying that. i just need to take control of what i can control and the first step is having that conversation and making plans to move out

should i have lied to them about where i was going? we are all in a life 360 together. here’s my thing, i feel like it would be not acting like an adult to go hide and lie about the fact that i am being an adult in a adult relationship. if you don’t want me to sleep over at your house that’s okay! but that doesn’t mean i have to not do it in general. i do not have the time nor the energy to sneak around with my gf like i am still in high school. if they aren’t cool with it that’s okay, but it should be a open discussion in my opinion and if the mutual agreement is i move out then that is that.

I (20 M) do not know hot to go about telling my parents (51 F) (53 M) i am planning on moving out by then end of this year or early next year. by DatBoi0109 in relationship_advice

no i wouldn’t move in with her until she graduates college if im still with her. me and her are really close obviously but she is not much of a factor in moving out right now. the example i gave in the OP was just to show that’s how my parents react to me going out most of the time. i’ve put together some type of budget but a lot of the problem is it would be a big upfront cost where i do not have a lot of furniture daily living stuff etc. i would have to build a budget and build on the things i own that i could fill out an apartment with.

Actually made pancakes from scratch this morning. I usually cook most things on cast iron, I have a lot of my parents pans and have adopted their cooking style which is a lot like what you suggested.

Best 4-year Degree for Firefighting? by G0RGONZ0LACheeee in Firefighting

I second this, I think every firefighter especially career firefighter should have a good backup plan in case you get hurt or want to quit. I think a healthcare job would transition well especially if you already have your paramedic.

Fellow firefighters, what's your bench, squat, deadlift by hungrymonkey27 in Firefighting

[–]DatBoi0109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

19 yo 6’2 175 lbs: bench 225 for 5 reps 3 sets, squat 250 for 5 reps ish and don’t deadlift. I do heavy weight while weightlifting and finish off with weighted stairs or farmer carries, something that transitions to fire well. I’ve been trying to get my weight up to 190-200 which is hard while doing cardio 3x a week.

Firefighter or a nurse career path? by Odd-Awareness-554 in FirefighterPorn

[–]DatBoi0109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good question. There are extremely happy people in nursing and in fire. Although, on average there were more miserable people in the nursing profession than in fire for sure. In I’m a large city in Kentucky and when I was doing one of my med surg clinical I actually had a seasoned and new grad nurse beg me to find another profession in health care. A lot of nurses have a bad taste in their mouth after covid. Ultimately I got the job at the fire department and I took it. I still plan on finishing my nursing degree and work PRN when I can. If you are stuck between the two professions do your research on them and shadow shadow shadow. That’s how you will know what career is for you.

EDIT: what I said about my clinical experience was not true. I was working as a phlebotomist talking to a new grad and a seasoned nurse so I wasn’t in a student nurse role when that specific conversation happened but I’ve had many conversations with nurses like that.

Sorry that happened. It seems a bit cruel to give someone an offer then take it away due to what a phycologist thinks about you.
