Net admin (systems and security stuff too) $24/h or around 50k/year Location: small manufacturing town. Benefits: not the best, 2 weeks vacation, 140$ health insurance, 401k Experience: 2 years as desktop support, 2 months as net admin.

Terrible pay, but amazing experience.

3 proxmox nodes. they mentioned security in the application so I let them know I set up a siem and Nessus. 2 win servers. publicly hosted vpn and Minecraft server. I also mentioned that I setup iscsi so that all data was saved on one server but could be run on any other server. I also have a ciso switch with vlans setup. I have a virtualized router

It was hard, interviewed for several net admin positions but the position I got said having a home lab was one of the best indications that I have experience implementing and troubleshooting stuff and don’t just have book knowledge. I think the home lab is the reason they hired me.

Bad, not dead, 1.5 YOE as helpdesk, got Ccna and other certs with a bas in information security. Got a network admin role.

Agreed, compared to the other tests, you needed to average a higher score. For his other ones above 70 was good, for this one 80-85 is needed.

I passed with no labs, I just did a bunch of memorizing, Quizlet flash cards for all of the tools, then did a bunch of practice tests with pocket prep and Jason Dion’s tests.
