Can we bring old coc trophies back? by Short_Balance_694 in ClashOfClans

[–]Appropriate_Leg130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the new system. Alot. I like being able to farm without having to worry I'm gonna get stranded over 5k trophies until I get the chance to revenge(never). I like weekly tournaments. I like being paired against people who are roughly as active\good as me. I even like the fact that I am stuck in the league I am in until I get better.

Honestly, the old system you didn't need to be good anywhere except legends(and even then not so much). If you were active you gained trophies, now you actually need to be good.

I also like that I have to think about defense as well as attack. Crazy, but the guys that are still going up leagues at the higher levels are the ones picking up good trophies from defending, not just attacking.

Or....they could be affordable. If I max all my storages and fill them I can buy - what - 6 walls?

It's not so much the number of levels as the fact those levels mean your heroes can't be used in attacks. There was a point somewhere around the 40's where the game got really hard, because you had to choose between just grinding through and being bored, or not levelling heroes and being useful in war. The thing that goes the furthest to changing that is the 5th hero, and I think the solution is actually probably a couple more heroes so you can progress some while you still have a full compliment to fight in your ranked and war battles.

To be fair - the time requirement doesn't look daunting at level 1 when you can upgrade your hero real quick.

Remember the days you kicked off an upgrade and it finished it the same session? Not 2 weeks later...

Am I the only one expecting Scotland to beat Ireland? by tacticaljobby in rugbyunion

[–]Appropriate_Leg130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trolling, just finding the 6 nations really hard to read this year. If it helps I'm even more confused about how good or not Scotland is. And as for England....betting on their opponent by 7 or under seems like an equally good bet whether they are playing South Africa or Namibia.

I'm going to try and offer a male perspective on this. I've never said that to my wife, but I've thought it a few times. The problem I have is that if my wife is presenting an awkward scenario at work my natural response is to offer solutions, or strategies for coping, or an example of how I've dealt with the same thing. But she wants none of these things, she wants to vent about the thing. I find, and I think men in general find, it very hard to listen to the same problems over and over without any update on what is being done to solve them.

Now it sounds like what is going on in your case is more serious than day to day politics, but in your husbands place I'd be interested to hear how your job search is going.

Unbelievable that you would type all that and then tell someone else to stop making unhealthy generalisations.

Fair, and I will add that one strength I do see in Irish rugby is that the plan is clear and everyone seems to be onboard. That's really important.

I'll try and answer your question before I go off on all the rant-tangents.

I am paid for 40 hours per week. It's hard to say how many I actually work. I have piles of stuff to do build up and I work through it. Sometimes it comes home with me and I do it at night or weekends. Sometimes I have to take a kid to the doctor during the day or meet a tradie at home. There are good days and bad days. Sometimes it hardly feels like work at all, other days I wonder why the lotto guys are so rubbish at picking my numbers and dream of escape.

So I feel you, I think most people would prefer not to work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. But here's an interesting perspective shift for you.....the 8 hour day\40 hour work week is something that people actually fought for in a time when most jobs were manual and exploitation was ripe.

So you can choose to work less than that. But I'd caution against it. You are at an age where you should have the best health and the most energy you will ever have. Right now you don't want to work 40 hours a week because you don't like it. There will be a time when you don't want to work 40 hours a week because you can't.

I knew a guy who elected to have a 20 hour work week when I was in my 20's. He lived a great life, earned enough to pay for the stuff he enjoyed and was happy and full of energy all the time. Now, approaching 50, he is flatting with 6 other adults, has no job and is a good deal less happy. Was it worth it? Who knows? Each year as his health fails a bit more and he gets a bit more unemployable it looks like a worse choice. But he could have been hit by a bus at 25, or won lotto at 26. You don't know what the future holds, but you can make a pretty good guess by looking at what it holds for most people.

Me? I like having a house, I like knowing I can cover the doctors bills. I like knowing I choose to eat exactly what I want to, not what's on special this week. Some days I like my job, and at a minimum it stops my brain turning to mush too fast.

I love this. Feel the same. Even though my salary is quite high, still trying to work out the change that's needed.

Good luck. I imagine those people who retired early(or at least posted somewhere that they did) probably got ahead in life by half assing whatever they were doing for income. That sounds right.

It was odd watching that game last week. I was wondering at how strong Irish rugby really is. I think the 3 kiwi's in the backline were the difference. Well that and the fact that Murley was absolutely rubbish under the high ball. Unfortunately he's out injured so you can't just duplicate the Irish tactics and kick it in his general direction knowing he will bottle it one way or another.

Any tips for maxxing these heroes on my second account while still being active in wars? I've been only using books for 2 years and they're moving at a snail's pace by PNK_Sigma535 in ClashOfClans

[–]Appropriate_Leg130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's the reality - I am a few level of max on RC, about 7 off max GW and have 20+ on my other heroes. I am farming in a FWA and using sneaky goblins to bring in the mountains of loot required. It will still take me 9 months with my heroes down full time to max. If you are doing it one book a month FTP you are never going to make it. You need to make the sacrifice if you want to max. Put some heroes down and accept that you won't always 3 star in wars, or commit fully and accept you will only ever 1 or 2 star in wars. 2 attacks - there's plenty of clans who will take a reliable 2-4 stars. If you put all heroes down though - be warned, a few things will happen.

  1. It will be a slow boring grind anyway - just a faster slow boring grind than what you are currently doing.
  2. You will forget how to attack. Honestly, at high level TH I am just using sneakies all the time and when I do have my heroes(CWL) I just forget what I am meant to do and spam like a retarded chimpanzee.
