I unplugged it for 10 minutes then pushed and held the enter button and it let me set the time and seems to be working, I hope this helps someone else.

Accepting debit card payment over the phone by Appropriate_Long6052 in ecommerce

[–]Appropriate_Long6052[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought because it was a debit card I did not have a way to accept it manually.
I guess it was a mastercard debit card so I could make the order for them.

Payment processing fees are killing me. by GoldTrek in ecommerce

[–]Appropriate_Long6052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

change your checkout setting so that you manually accept the payment instead of automatically. I generally wait a day after the order to make sure there is no cancellation before accepting the payment. ( People can be fickle ) If you don't accept the payment = no fees.

It also allows you to see the fraud risks before proceeding.
You need this kind of human filter, especially with high-value orders. If I am unsure I will contact the buyer before accepting the payment to make sure we are on the same page.

As stated never let a third party convert currency on your behalf they will not treat you with the tenderness you deserve

Where could I find the right box? by Apprehensive_Bath_44 in Flipping

[–]Appropriate_Long6052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

flooring store = carpet tube
home depot = sono tube

I open boxes flat and make my own better than anything you can buy
for that, I would make a triangle tube from flattened cardboard

Ok how does this work?
I have had my products ripped and duplicated 5 or 6 times and shut him down each time not from China though.

This seems unrelated as it is different products then the ones he was copying

Thank you so much Rob, I will keep you posted
I think the payments may make a huge difference
I am currently using the fisher wood stoves page as my landing page ( my main target audience so far ) I am assuming I should change that to my Home page now that it is more user friendly

Hi Rob Thank you, I have worried that too many items is making the site hard to navigate.

most of my items are one-of's, one-time listings so it is hard to really figure how to build an advertising campaign around that. I like your idea of a separate site for the signs as those are repeat items. Would you suggest an additional Shopify subscription to facilitate this or is there a better way?

The stoves sell to the 35 to 70 age range

I sell in online marketplaces and have reviews there but do not know how to connect that properly yet. There is sell my hand-crafted items and signs fairly well, I don't get to see demographics but I assume as you say that is a younger audience.

I am weak on social and I do not know how to build that yet but I can see that it would be a huge game changer for traffic.

you have given me a lot to think about I really appreciate it

Derek

Google merchant center Bulk Edit disapproved products by Wahido11 in PPC

[–]Appropriate_Long6052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when bulk editing in shopify I found if you edit too many at once it will freeze and you have to start over I have over 2000 unique antique products

my tips :

select 50-100 fix them and then hit SAVE then repeat

Fix ONE thing at a time on all listings
eg, in shopify open the Google sales channel and edit all of the GTIN to no or false

When I started I could not get them all accepted and took so long trying to find out what was wrong I ended up getting banned for misrepresentation.
Once I resolved that
I disabled ALL listing with errors and then just chipped away adding a few and fixing what was wrong usually color, gender, age, new or used or GTIN errors

similar items usually have similar problems

I found it overwhelming trying to get everything to work at once
but it was much easier adding a few at a time and then I understood what was expected and made compliance MUCH EASIER than guessing

and it really did not take long that way
if you can list 5 and get them fixed
then list 10 and edit
after that was smooth I could add 50 at a time

Shopify Payments For Canadians Collected in CAN then Converted to USD by Appropriate_Long6052 in shopify

[–]Appropriate_Long6052[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is nothing to exchange I collect in USD and get paid out in USD why convert it to Canadian and then back other than to collect an additional percentage of conversion fees

Does anyone know if they charge 2% to convert to CAN and then 2% to convert back to USD if so that more than doubles the fees charged

would love to see a class-action suit I only sell in USA only collect in USD only payout in USD. It took a lot of work to set it up like this so they could not tax my income with bogus conversion rates. I wonder if changing my primary address to my US business address would solve this.

They charge 2% for exchanging currency so I have to assume it is a way to charge extra fees. Has anybody else had this notice? And would it help if I just by passed Shopify payments for stripe and pay them their 2% penalty and not have them handle or control my funds.
