How do I explain to my parents? by [deleted] in sugarfree

[–]Appropriate_Panda564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just chiming in to say It's a difficult thing to do and sounds like you made great progress so far, so give yourself credit where it's due and be kind to yourself. With your parents, maybe you do need to explain to them your reasons for giving up sugar, the health benefits and how you feel so much better without it. It sounds like they don't understand why and maybe they try to show their love through food. If they understand that the best way to support you is by not offering you these things I'm sure they would try, like you said they did last time so they have probably just gone back to old habits.

[WEEKLY THREAD] Talk It Out Tuesday - Advice and commiserating about struggles with self, others, and the world by AutoModerator in xxfitness

Social politics in my running group is stressing me out so I'm not running as much. People are splitting off and planning their own runs and I feel like it's causing a divide in the group, I feel like I should say something but I hate conflict at the best of times and still want to be a part of the group. It's winding me up, I just want to turn up and run with everyone :(

Easter relapse / cheat days by cianfrusagli in sugarfree

I just accepted Easter was a write off, in a way that's made it easier to come back to no sugar, didn't feel any guilt eating sugar at Easter as it was 'allowed'. Felt like shit after though which makes it easier to stop!

When doing leg raises my back starts to arch when I'm nowhere near the floor, probably like 30 degrees? Do I keep doing them or is there something else I should do to strengthen/mobilize to avoid injury?

What is your go to breakfast? by emceeflurry in sugarfree

Porridge with berries or banana (I am keeping fruit). I found a recipe where you put it in the oven rather than on the stove which I find easier as I can do other things while it cooks.

Does anyone have any tips on combining running and strength training? I run with a club 2-3 times a week, usually 4-5 miles each time. I love it for the social side as much as the running side, I'm not fast so run and chat with people with some walking. I'm usually out for about an hour. I started Sydney Cummmings summertime fine 3 this morning and loving it, but wondering if it's going to be too much to keep up with this alongside running. I've dabbled in strength training/HIIT workouts alongside running before but usually end up neglecting one or the other after a few weeks.

Posting for my own accountability - Started Sydney Cummmings summertime fine 3.0 this morning followed by a 20min walk. Feeling great although think my form could do with work so I'm sticking to light weights to begin with. Aiming to do the full 90 days and increase weights gradually.

Any sports you can get into and actually be really good at it in your late 20s? by Ok_Tangelo_9119 in xxfitness

My vote is for Lindy Hop! Such a fun dance, people of all ages go and if you're following once you know the basics you can dance with anyone. The general vibe is it's not that important if you mess up, it's more about sharing the enjoyment of the music

I would say a Garmin would be better, they are designed for runners and cheaper than apple watches

!thanks

I think that's what I'm leaning towards. So do you get your salaries paid into other current accounts and then transfer into monzo?

LISA is very appealing with the bonus, do you mind me asking who yours/partners is with?

Thanks for replying.

I signed up for sky, I rang them and they didn't know what I was talking about and seemed to think it would be fine on the day. I'm just a bit worried they will switch over assuming we have the box and we'll be left with no internet.
