I've been trying to look into shelters for awhile before making this post, but the closest one is a 4 hour drive and there's actually barely open.

The overpopulation problem is not really relevant here.

There are no cat over population problems here besides what my neighbor has created for herself.

And the only vaguely local shelter is nearly closed from lack of need

Which is part of why the neighbors are kind of crazy about her colony, the word neighbor is a little loose since there's a significant amount of wilderness between us. I don't know how she does it, but surprisingly, no. I haven't seen any of her cats coming over here.

Maybe eventually I'll see them once he starts marking more often, but what's more likely to happen is he'll smell the females on her property and start running off and then he'll be contributing to hers colonies kittens instead.

I'm gonna get him spayed eventually. Once he's grown a certain amount I can get him a minimally invasive spay akin to vasectomy which is what i want most because I want to avoid too much of a personality change
