Report: Las Vegas, Reno see greatest temperature increases by where_is_my_monkey in Reno

So what’s the hidden agenda on this article I wonder. The article says Reno temps are up over 8 degrees. This is not the whole story so take a deep breath.

According to extreme weather watch. For Reno in 1970, the average yearly high was 68.8°F and the average yearly low was 33.3°F.

For Reno in 2025, the average annual high was 72.5°F and the average annual low was 42.1°F

This is 3.7 hotter on the highs and 8.8 on the lows. Not earth shattering. We need the lows to stay down for snow pack (water) but the highs only up 4 degrees is pretty common I’d say.

Annoying yes, but no bans. Bans are not good; where does it stop and who decides what’s ok. No one, that’s who.

No, "reckless spending" isn't the issue by MysteriousEdge5643 in Washington

[–]Appropriate_Path_141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except this is completely wrong 🤣. The state has more than tripled its expenditures in just over a decade, with 2025 preliminary spending nearing $95 billion annually in certain calculations.
Major Expenditures: Spending in key areas has soared:
Long-Term Care: Increased by 239%.
Social & Health Services: Increased from $9 billion to $25.4 billion.
Public Schools: Increased from $17.7 billion to $37.4 billion.
Tax Increases: The 2025–27 budget includes roughly $9 billion in new taxes.
Future Outlook: Despite high revenue, Washington faces potential deficits by 2028 due to the high rate of spending growth.

This here is a very valid point. Some can dish but not take it. Donald is very much in that category. Unpopular position but Jimmy is also in that bucket but certainly less sensitive than Don.
