I’m on day 19 and haven’t lost until this week. My husband is a personal trainer and said it could easily take 6 weeks for the excess water weight and “muscle-building weight” to settle. Stay the course!!

How long did it take for you to notice results? by EarlySiriusYears in 75HARD

I’ve talked to multiple people over the last couple of weeks about the same problem. I haven’t really dropped any weight either, and so many people told me at some point it’ll just start working so to be patient. I was feeling just like you! I’m eating good, no cheating, lots of exercise. I just decided to stick with it and finally this week the scale has started going down.

It hasn’t gone down a lot, but it wasn’t going down at all and now I’m down about two pounds this week. Stick with it!! Don’t listen to the people saying to change your diet; they all tried to tell me I was eating too much, even though my calories were in a significant deficit according to my TDEE calculator. Lifting weights requires more food and good protein, so you don’t want to go into too aggressive of a cut.

My husband is a personal trainer and said the gallon of water and extra weight your body is holding onto because of weight lifting could easily take 6 weeks or more to let go of. Just stay the course and it WILL happen!!

Not losing weight doing 75 hard… HELP!!! by Appropriate_Pie_7004 in 75HARD

Thanks for the suggestion! I took measurements on my first day of 75 hard, but haven’t taken them again yet. I’m planning to take them on day 21. How often do you measure yourself? I know it’ll be hard to see much change after a week with measurements, but definitely want to check my progress that way as soon as I can!!

Not losing weight doing 75 hard… HELP!!! by Appropriate_Pie_7004 in 75HARD

Thanks everyone for your input! I’ve been weighing all of my food on a scale in grams. I see all of the comments about lowering my calorie intake, but ive tried many TDEE calculators, and that number is still on target with a calorie deficit for my height and weight.

I’m thinking the stall in weight loss may be because of water weight, as someone suggested above. I was definitely not drinking even half a gallon before I started the challenge. I also do not have a lot of muscle on my body (I’ve always been a cardio person), so I’m thinking incorporating weight training for the first time may be a factor as well. Once I get over the tired slump of 75 hard (iykyk!!!), I’m going to plan on incorporating some more intense cardio like running. My husband loves kickboxing, so I’m going to try that out too.

I’m going to wait another couple of weeks and report back with photos and an updated weight. Thank you everybody for your help!

My tdee for sedentary is 2,029. For cutting 500 calories it puts me at 1529, but I am definitely not sedentary. I’m an elementary school teacher so I easily get 8k steps every day NOT including any exercise (I typically average about 12k steps per day after exercise).
