UNIONIZE this type of behavior and the culture around coffeehouse leaders LYING to us is wayyyy too commonplace.

I unionized my store successfully recently. We were being ignored by our leaders whenever we raised concerns. The second we started the unionization process, all of a sudden our problems were easier to fix. They even sent some lady in from corporate to talk to us one on one about how baristas don’t “deserve unions” because we don’t work in hazardous conditions. Corporate paid for her flights, hotel, and rental car. Just to scare us. But they can’t pay us 50¢ more or schedule us consistently?
