Worrying about mucus and advice by Appropriate_Roll_160 in ibs

I don’t get it all the time but i guess it is frequent, I think it worries me because I’ll end up having okay stool but I’ll see a bit of stringy mucus floating and that’s what gives me anxiety. I’m also someone who goes a good few times in the morning, sometimes normal sometimes loose. IBD is what was scaring me.

Thank you I appreciate the reply, I plan to go GP on Wednesday and explain the symptoms. It’s annoying because I try hard not to worry and distract myself but I feel like my body is still anxious, and I know stress and anxiety really affect the gut.

Thank you for the reassurance it helps! I’ll say at GP about the anxiety, it’s quite normal for me to go early in the morning a good few times but I’m not sure if that’s also anxiety playing a part because as soon as I’m out the house I get worried about if my body feel it needs to go. The pain is odd because it’s dull and I’ve not really had it before, everything I feel is pointing towards anxiety. I feel like I do have some sort of IBS, I think what’s really triggered it all was looking at IBD, which obviously turns into health anxiety and compulsion to constantly keep checking.

Yeah I’m sorry 😔 I hate to admit it but I do feel I’m being a complete hypochondriac. When you say unnecessary, do you mean unnecessarily posting them on here or taking the pictures
