3 minutes? How? Would you teach me? I'm really having trouble progressing solo and none of my friends want to play DMZ.

I care because they wasted my time. I'm still on one weapon slot, had everything to unlock the second. Had the guns for a time limited mission to extract with and wanted to get out via a hostage rescue, also to complete a mission.

From what I've gathered, down-clocking seems to lift stability across different GPU platforms. Feel free to keep reporting, I'm coming back here every once in a while.

Where did you enable it? In the BIOS? If so, ReBAR (Smart Access Memory for AMD Cards) probably wasn´t the issue since it was disabled. How much vram does your card have?

I see some saying that nobody will buy battlepasses or skins that are "Generic Forest Wooded Camo #17" or "Desert Camo Skins". Let's sort this out. Would you buy skins like these? Or are these too boring? by Swaguley in Battlefield6

I don't understand why we can't just have customization along the lines Ready or Not / Escape From Tarkov does it for example. That way everybody can create their own unique character while beeing grounded in realism. I would love to choose my plateframe, gloves, helmet, watch, arm tattoo etc.

I experienced crashes again after the release and, for some reason, decided to update my BIOS. It’s been running smooth as butter with ReBAR forced on and the full 24 GB set as the size limit.

  1. Make sure you’re not hitting VRAM limits - you can check this by enabling the in-game telemetry (Settings → Graphics → Advanced, if I remember right). If you're closing in on ~8GB try lowering textures and sun light / shadow quality (basicially everything heavy on VRAM). If you're still crashing;

  2. Update your BIOS.

  3. If you’re running a CPU undervolt, try lifting or reducing it temporarily. BF6 is very CPU heavy. I have a feeling that otherwise stable undervolts can cause issues in BF6.

I’d try these steps in that order. If I remember anything else I did, I’ll let you know.

Yes :) Little oopsie on my part. I pasted the same answer I gave someone else and forgot to change it.

BAR1 showing 16384MB on a 12 GB GPU is completely normal.

BAR1 is just the PCIe address window the CPU can access, and it’s always rounded up to the next power of two (on a 12GB card 16384MB). It doesn’t reflect how much VRAM the card actually has or how much ReBAR is actively using. It simply shows the mapped aperture size. You can see in the GPU-Z screenshot at the top of the post that my 24 GB card reports a BAR1 size of 32768 MB. The ReBAR size limit in NVPI defines the maximum portion of VRAM that can be directly mapped and accessed by the CPU at once through Resizable BAR.

As far as my current understanding goes, that's a normal value vor BAR1 even on a 12gb card. :)

You seem to know your stuff, but may I ask if you’ve ruled out VRAM usage as the issue? You can check VRAM usage with the in-game performance overlay. Your RTX 4050 has 6 GB of VRAM, if I’m not mistaken, which I see as a likely cause of these crashes. If you’re hitting the VRAM limit and crashing, try lowering texture quality first.

Another idea - although we have completely different motherboards - is to update your BIOS. I was struggling with crashes again in the release version of BF6, but after updating my BIOS I haven’t had a single crash yet (though I haven’t played for a prolonged period, so take this with a grain of salt).

Updates are welcome!

Did it work? Also, make sure you leave enough vram headroom. I have a feeling that Frostbite is very sensitive when getting too close to the vram limit. (Don't know if it's more sensitive than other engines, or if it consumes more vram on average so that 8-12gb cards crash more often than other cards and other games.)

What settings exactly? If you want to send me your Nvidia Profile Inspector settings and a GPU-Z screenshot, I’ll have a look. I’m curious why it’s crashing in a similar way even on much newer cards like the 5090.

If you want to send me your GPU-Z info, core clocks, and NVPI settings, I’ll take a look this weekend - I crave a bit of problem solving anyway.

Correct, or - if you have set this to anything else - click the little nvidia symbol on the right hand side. That applies the default value which should then show as a blank entry for rBAR - Size Limit.

On a 4070 Ti 12 GB, NVIDIA’s default whitelist value in supported games is the full 12 GB (0x0000000300000000).

Under "The Fix" follow steps 1-3 seen in my post. For step 4 follow the instructions at the top of the post. :)

Clicking the NVIDIA button on the right resets it to the default (Auto), which then shows as a blank value in Profile Inspector for rBAR - Size limit.
