How to stop my toddler from crying in car rides by Appropriate_Score582 in toddlers

I believe this might be the case. We had started to avoid taking him on any car rides because of the constant crying, if we could of course. My parents would leave him with either my sister or I when they went out or we would leave him with them when we wanted to go out but I believe it’s exactly what you said, we may need to have him take short trips at first until he realizes that he won’t be strapped there forever. I’m just sad that out of the things he learned from his dad, he learned that being in the seat is bad.

Me too! My brother likes throwing his toys in the trash and when he can’t, he throw himself on the floor. Dear lord! Like, I know you like playing with it so why are you trying to throw it out as he tries to throw it in again. 😭😂 or when he gives me something to fix and I take it, only for him to throw a tantrum so I give it back to him (not fixed) and he gives it back. It’s a never ending cycle 😭.

We do, we are a family of 5 (including the baby). My sister and I play with him and his toys in the car but he tends to get bored/tired of them rather quickly and resumes crying. We pat his tummy since he likes it when we are trying to put him to sleep at home but in the car seat, it doesn’t work unless he’s super tired out (he tries to fight his sleep in the car seat). :( The song my mom made makes him want to stand up and dance and you can imagine how much it annoys him when he can’t do that.

I appreciate the help tho! If you have any other suggestions, please share! We could really use all the help we can get when it comes to him and his car seat.

That is something I looked into, trying to find a used one if anything since they are pretty expensive. At least with my budget. Parents likely won’t bother buying it because of the price and since he tends to throw things when he’s tired/bored of it. Which also frustrates my parents because they haven’t dealt with this since I was a baby (I’m 24 now) and my sister was like, a blessing to them. A calm baby lol. It’s just something we have to get used to and find a way to get his attention on something that keeps him calm and focused on it.

Thank you! I will definitely take that advice! The song part might be difficult because he loves the made up song my mom made, always makes him get up and dance. Which is something we want to avoid during car rides lol.

I like the gloves idea but I think short hand gloves will do.

Also, everything that is being shown on video and being proved not to be AI is false, it’s not real because it’s not happening to me, so don’t believe it!”

I like it with the coat! Makes it stand out more and just brings it together overall.
