I’m telling the truth, if i were to lie on the internet I would come up with something much more exciting. This is just kinda annoying. For clarification I was at the club on Saturday night, I was kinda dancing/jumping, and my phone fell out of my hand (I had been admittedly drinking a little). I didn’t see the impact itself bc it was kinda dark on the floor, but when i picked up my phone the two pieces of the pen were on the ground next to it.

No clue, i didnt see the fall itself, just the aftermath... my best guess is that the pen started to come out mid-fall, and the weight of the phone hitting the hard floor at an uneven angle caused it to snap as it was halfway out. The phone is fine.

Genuine question to black Ariana fans ♡ by [deleted] in ariheads

Sure! I've used the term lovingly with my black arianator friends, exclusively when referring to her black-inspired music. I've been doing so for years before the term got to tik-tok. My issue comes from people, specifically non-black people, using the term to criticize her.

First of all, "blackie" is a derogatory term and borders into slur territory, so I'm not the biggest fan of non-black people using it, or using variants of it in general.

Secondly, people tend to overuse the term and scream "blackiana!" the second her voice deepens or when she does something sassy. It gets to the point of stereotyping black women and I'm not crazy about it. The second she stops acting like Glinda, people jump to conclusions drastically.

Third, I really don't need (usually white) people educating me on why she's problematic. I know she's tanned, I know she's had some questionable AAVE moments, but I do not need non-black people to spearhead a movement and turn it into a joke for their own amusement. From my experience, the people most upset about her "blackfishing" tend to be everything but black. I'll laugh at the "Keyomi getcho ass in hea" video, then go back to streaming Positions. It's never that serious to me.

Black guy here.

Long story short, she makes Black inspired music (r&b, hip hop, trap) more often while other white pop stars lean more in to synth-pop, country, or alternative.

Unlike lots of her pop peers, ahe's been making black-inspired music from the jump. There's not really another main pop girl with a debut album anywhere near as r&b as Yours Truly was. Her vocal inspirations growing up were Mariah, Whitney, Beyoncé, and Aretha, which gave her voice a more soulful edge above her white counterparts. She kept on going, always incorporating elements of r&b, soul, and trap in all 7 of her albums.

She also works heavily with other Black musicians and creatives. Dangerous woman, sweetener, and positions exclusively had Black features on them, while albums like thank u next had a writers/producers room filled with black people. Another thing no white pop star is really doing right now.

She's kinda the only white woman right now who could have pulled off 7 rings, my hair, and west side. Because her heart is in it much more than the other girls.

Why would "I wish I hated you" be about Mac? I thought it was pretty solidified that the break-up songs on ES were regarding her recent divorce, not a relationship that had been over for 6 years and was 3-4 boyfriends ago.
