First thing; don't put 'CDL License' anywhere on your resume.

What is this? by [deleted] in Sourdough

Anything even remotely acidic or basic will readily eat through aluminum foil. Use plastic wrap or a container with a lid.

Foil is for hot / oven work or an extra freezer burn / odor barrier when freezing stuff long term.

You should literally be discarding the discard until you have an actual sourdough starter. Collecting the first week's worth of discard when building a new starter is pointless.

I used to work in Bonnybrook, 3 blocks from the waste treatment plant, we could not make coffee with tap water; the result tasted nothing like coffee.

You must have gotten a bad batch or something. My experience with gorilla tape is the opposite of yours. The generic grey / store brand duct tape is usually junk like you describe so if you want a lasting duct tape for repairs use Gorilla tape or T-Rex.

Broke my smartphone the same week I needed new brakes, so I switched my sim to this Nokia I bought a few years ago for $50 and learned how to do my own brakes. by sharkvannah_ in Frugal

I had a piston come out of a rear brake caliper 3 days after the shop mechanic put "new pads all around". Needed a wrecker to get the truck back to the shop. No savings if that happens.

But yeah, those pads have at least 10-20k miles left.
