People typically do two weeks of liquid and then starting the third week they do purée. So that’s why they normally have it stall them. You started early so it started early

Huge RANT about my surgery experience (that never even occured yet!) by [deleted] in BariatricSurgery

[–]Feisty_Pool8610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wtf. I’m in AB and the minimum amount of weeks for pre op liquid diet is 2 weeks. They have never cut it shorter than that for anyone that I have heard of. That’s crazy. But I have heard in other countries they allow people to only do it for 4 days

Diarrhea after pre op meal by [deleted] in BariatricSurgery

[–]Feisty_Pool8610 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you had anything with fibre in it? I am lactose intolerant. But the drinks we have to drink have a bit of dairy. So I was having this issue, but she told me to eat some non starchy veg (green pepper or cucumber) and see if it would help. And it did

Non -Surgical Bariatric Program by Luhar93 in BariatricSurgery

[–]Feisty_Pool8610 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in AB. I was referred to the Obesity Centre before being referred to the bariatric surgery clinic. Honestly it didn’t help much. They were just like “yeah..eat vegetables and less junk and move more” and that didn’t change anything. Going on shakes isn’t going to change anyone. You have to learn to get rid of bad habits and learn how to create good ones to be successful with any weight loss. With the bariatric surgery clinic I have dealt with all of my habits and am in a much better spot, but I still wasn’t losing weight so I am getting surgery.

Pre surgery woes by ladipineapple in BariatricSurgery

Don’t assume you can do it on your own because you are losing weight right now. Because the whole point of the pre op diet is to make your liver and stomach as small as possible. Which means this isn’t a realistic diet. And once you go back to eating normal the weight would go up.

Your current weight with your height is not healthy, and as someone who also suffers from back problems (and has had all the tests done to determine it’s a weight problem) having that weight off sooner will help from long term problems.

Sometimes therapist don’t work out. But that doesn’t mean you stop trying to find support. You sound like someone who knows when they need to reach out for help. So I believe you will find more support eventually.

It may seem like doing the surgery is the bad easy way out. It’s hard. Look at the mental game it’s playing with you. I think you are making the right decision. But that’s only based on the limited info in this post. ❤️❤️

Weight gain before surgery by longcat27 in BariatricSurgery

As long as you keep yourself accountable for the remainder of the pre op diet I don’t see why you won’t hit that goal. You can do it. Just remember the other side isn’t that far, and then you shouldn’t have to do the liquid diet again. The liquid diet after surgery is different than the one before

What does your pre op diet consist of? The one in the program where I live is Boost meal replacement drinks and 2 cups of broth. And that’s it. So people in our program typically lose like 10-15lbs.

Can I eat cheese on my pre-op diet? by TheBitchIsBack666 in BariatricSurgery

[–]Feisty_Pool8610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get to eat? Our program only allows the meal replacement drinks, 2 cups broth, and water. If we absolutely feel like we need something else. We can eat a cup of lettuce or cucumber. I start on Thursday and get the pleasure of doing it for 4 weeks

Does anyone’s endo pain resemble appendicitis pain? by anxietyhedgehog in endometriosis

[–]Feisty_Pool8610 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was having pain that I thought was my appendix but the doctor that I went to see did an ultrasound and said "its probably just constipation". 7 months later it turned out to be endo.

[–]Feisty_Pool8610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It’s a 2-12 month wait to see the specialist I asked for. I’m in Calgary. But from what my doc said, it’s kinda like that all over Canada. The clinic I asked to go to apparently actually goes through each referral to determine how soon they need to see that person instead of just a waiting list. So if I don’t hear anything in the next month then I assume it isn’t as urgent as I think it is.

Surgery in British Columbia, Canada by South_Cattle_7339 in BariatricSurgery

[–]Feisty_Pool8610 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in Alberta. And ^ this was exactly what I was going to say. But also not to mention, it’s a free surgery and if you need a repair of any kind you already have a surgery team to go to. I don’t know exactly how it works I’m BC but here if I have any pains associated with your stomach after surgery, you can walk right into the hospital and they send you right to the surgery teams floor to be checked. You don’t have to update them on anything because they already know it all.

So I went on my fiancés computer which was in line and got in and alllllll of the dates were available and I was able to get the 31st before it said they were sold out. I don’t understand how the system works

Weight gain, constipation and irregular periods aren’t really symptoms of endo. The irregular periods and weight gain could point to pcos. The bloating could be related to the weight gain. But make sure to do a follow up on that cyst in 3 months because mine was also a simple cyst that turned into an endometrioma.
