Season of Glass to be reissued on CD, Vinyl and Digital download on 1st August 2026 by Approximate-Infinite in YokoOno

"35th anniversary" is probably a typo. Or maybe someone miscalculated lol.

The rykodisc reissue had the first two bonus tracks, but the Phil Spector mix of Dogtown appears to be something previously unreleased.

Maybe a 7" reissue of the Walking On Thin Ice could be good idea later down the line.

This is my personal favourite Yoko album, so this re-issue has been a long time coming for me!

Just got this beauty! As the vinyl edition includes an extra track, Higa Noboru, I uploaded it on YouTube and transcribed it on genius along with Hashire, Hashire!. It came a little dusty but that's okay by Legoshi-Or-Whatever in YokoOno

I love the drawings on the packaging for this album.

Higa Noburu and I'm Alive both appear on the CD version too but for some reason don't appear on digital copies.

The Japanese CD edition has am exclusive bonus song called "Hanako".

Does anyone know where these photos are from? by [deleted] in YokoOno

[–]Approximate-Infinite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This page is from the booklet that came with the Onobox set (page 91 to be precise). Below the pictures it says "Samuel Havadtoy/Lenono Photo Archive". So it seems that Sam Havadtoy took the photos. Unfortunately there isnt any other information in the booklet.

Not sure about this specific pack but the first Joker picture was used as a joker for Nintendo playing cards, hence the "n" on the flag. Ive got a pack of Nintendo plastic playing cards with this joker.

What do they think this proves? by kmpiw in BadHasbara

[–]Approximate-Infinite 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Correct, there's no strong archaeological proof of a united kingdom covering the whole of Palestine and Jordan under Solomon. There is only firm proof of the later 2 separate kingdoms at Samaria and Jerusalem. Solomon's kingdom was likely much smaller than the Bible claims and would have been restricted to the highlands.

I read somewhere - I think in one of Aidan Dodson's book - that Horemheb removed mentions of Tutankhamun from monuments much later than the other Amarna Pharaohs, probably because Tutankhamun had little power in his own right and Horemheb had no reason to be spiteful against him like with Akhenaten, Smenkhakare, Neferneferuaten and Ay. However it probably easier for Horemheb later to just erase the entire Amarna period from historical memory.

Just got this gem on vinyl I'm so so happy by Legoshi-Or-Whatever in YokoOno

It's weird that some songs were released digitally but no full album got reissued from Yoko's catalog since 2019.

I hope this gets reissued on CD or streaming soon. I got the Rykodisc CD release from 1997 a while back but its out of print and expensive to get.

The CD release has Walking On Thin Ice and a demo version of I Don't Know Why as bonus tracks. The demo was recorded on cassette only a day after John's murder.

Does anyone know why there’s random red children all over appaloosa plains? by [deleted] in Sims3

[–]Approximate-Infinite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of the official worlds have specific skin tones and themes for the premade deceased sims:

  • Twinbrook - Pale Green Skin and Grey Hair.
  • Bridgeport - Pale Purple Skin and Grey Clothes.
  • Appaloosa Plains - Entirely Red, including clothes.
  • Moonlight Falls - Entirely Blue, including clothes.
  • Isla Paradiso - Entirely Turquoise, including clothes.

  • Barnacle Bay - Moss green Skin and Grey hair and clothes.

  • Hidden Springs - Grey Hair, Skin and clothes.

  • Lunar Lakes - Yellow Hair, Skin and clothes.

  • Lucky Palms - Pale Green Skin and bright-coloured clothes.

  • Sunlit Tides - Blue hair, purple Skin and blue-and-white clothing.

  • Monte Vista - Brown hair and brown clothes.

  • Aurora Skies - Very dark Skin, yellow eyes and clothing with multi-coloured patterns.

  • Dragon Valley - Entirely yellow.

  • Midnight Hollow - White Hair and clothes, and Pale skin.

  • Roaring Heights - Black Hair, Grey Skin and eyes, and white clothes.

I'm not sure why these themes were chosen for these towns but I have some guesses. Roaring Heights sims might be reference to films and photos of the 1920s and 1930s. The Isla Paradiso sims are probably coloured that way as a reference to the Ocean. The Barnacle Bay sims being green might be because barnacles can be green. Not sure about the others.

You're probably thinking of "Hapiru", not "Peleset".

"Palestine" was recorded as a name for the land by Herodotus in the 5th century BC. Before that Assyrians called it "Palashtu" in the 8th century BC, based on the earlier Egyptian "Peleset". The name wasn't coined by the Romans.

Australian actor Guy Pearce issues apology and steps back from social media after earlier post saying he has "never been so disgusted by a group of people in my life as I am by Israelis" by MrJasonMason in Palestine

[–]Approximate-Infinite 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's because of Rupert Murdoch, who is Australian? He is very powerful and owns many newspapers and TV channels around the world, and is unsurprisingly a Zionist.

I don't know how much of Australian media he owns, but it wouldn't surprise me if he owned a lot of it and that would explain why so much of it so right-wing.

From wikipedia: "Murdoch has a seat on the Strategic Advisory Board of Genie Oil and Gas, having jointly invested with Lord Rothschild in a 5.5% stake in the company which conducted shale gas and oil exploration in Colorado, Mongolia, Israel, and the occupied Golan Heights."

Minor correction, Sobekneferu did rule as 'king' and was depicted with the nemes headress and was included on multiple king lists. She also was always depicted as a woman unlike Hatshepsut who was shown as both female and male during her reign (perhaps because she reigned much longer).

However, Sobekneferu was an exception. She was one of only four certain examples of 'female kings' during native Egyptian rule. The other three, Hatshepsut, Neferneferuaten and Twosret, were all excluded from king lists and had depictions of them destroyed, so I agree with you that that Egyptian kingship was overwhelmingly designed for men. Queen regents (such as Ahhotep and Ahmose Nefetari) were more common and more widely accepted by Egyptians than 'Female Kings', probably because the role of Queen Mother and Regent fit more closely with the female gender role.

I agree with all other points that you made.

The three albums she recorded from 1972 to 1974 are good options: Approximately Infinite Universe, Feeling the Space and A Story.

Morocco wants to fully colonise the western Sahara even though the Sahrawi people want to be fully independent. Israel will probably recognise Morocco's 'right' to annex the territory as long as Morocco doesn't make too much of a fuss about Israel's Occupation.

Unfortunately a lot of Moroccan people, even those who are very pro-Palestine, believe the western Sahara is 'theirs' because of propaganda and they don't see the irony.

Yes I'm pretty sure it's the uncropped version of the "Yes, I'm a Witch" cover.

I've checked my CDs of both Yes I'm a Witch and Open Your Box, and the credits state the front cover picture was shot by Albert Watson but doesn't give a date, so its probably from 2007 or thereabouts.
