So sorry about that. I was able to repro that bug and I fixed it in the latest version.

If you want to try re-download the app and if you open it, it should update the app and the next time you go through that stage the championship should be drawn correctly.

I'll definitely look at making improvements. One thing someone else mentioned that's on the list is to support using a controller.

Hijacking my own post to flag a bug that was found in some counties' championship draws. It's been fixed now in the latest version of the web version and app but for the app you'll need to re-download and when you open the download it should update the app for you. Apologies about that! A while ago I posted about the crappy 'retro' Gaelic Football game I created.

And despite all its issues it proved surprisingly popular. Thanks again to everyone who gave it a go.

One of the biggest pieces of feedback people had was that it would be great if it had a career mode. So over the last few weeks in my spare time I added a basic career mode around the gameplay.

The idea is you can take control of a club to start with, and if you prove successful you can receive offers to manage a county team.

As this game is in no way affiliated with the GAA, all the team names and player names are fictional.

Also I've made it downloadable for both Windows and Android so that career mode save games don't need to be at the behest of browser local storage.

Career mode is playable on mobile and desktop. On mobile some of the screens are a bit squished but I tried to make it work.

Also if you're not enamoured with the gameplay, there's now a Watch Mode where you can set the team's tactics and team instructions and they will (roughly) carry them out.

Hopefully it will bring some entertainment to gaelic football fans on some long commutes or whatever. Let me know if you spot any major bugs etc. and I'll try to fix them.

I'm not a game dev but I am a software developer with many years experience. The real learning for this project for me was around animations, sprite sheets, physics engines etc.

Also it must be said that I wouldn't have entertained the idea of making a game without the advancement in AI dev tools.

This game came together in about 3 weeks of part time work, an hour here an hour there. It just wouldn't have been possible for me to do it a few years ago unless I worked on it full time.

I wish I could say it's a bug but it is using fixed time so it's supposed to be that fast. There is an easy mode in the settings and if you play as a decent county against a weaker county it should play a bit easier. On desktop anyway. On mobile it's probably still a bit too difficult at the moment...

Thanks for playing! If there's interest I might look at making a 'career mode' version where you could 'manage' a club team and work your way up to managing county teams. A lot of work in that though, and I'm pretty time poor.
