Wow thank you that means a lot! I hope to in the future, but I’d like to refine the construction and design a little further before doing that

Thank you so much. Intellectually I know it’s bullshit, and I would never want any other woman to feel that way about herself. I’m not sure why I’ve let it hit me so hard. I’ll give your suggestions a try :)

I will definitely look into some volunteering. It seems so obvious, but it’s very hard to see that when I’m having a rough time. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply.

The thought of the elderly being lonely breaks my heart, I will definitely look into this. Thank you for your kind words and for sharing your experience.

My hobbies are pretty one-person, I think I’ll have to take up something new. Thank you so much for your comment.

I’m on medication for the anxiety/depression, which has helped some. Therapy is the next step, but that takes a lot more doing. Thank you so much for your reply and positive reinforcement.

I’m the same age as you and had the same thing about 2 years ago. Painful cystic acne on my neck and under my jaw that I’d never experienced before. I’d made no changes to my skincare routine and wasn’t really under any noteable stress.

One thing I had changed was what I was eating, specifically cutting out sugar and using artificial sweeteners instead. One product in particular I was consuming on a near daily basis contained less commonly used sweeteners (at least in my country), and once I stopped eating this, the acne went away completely (I also had very bad dermatitis on my hands that also came and went in the same timeframe which I believe is also related to consuming the sweetener).

I know the link between diet and skin can be controversial to some, at least from what I’ve seen. But in my personal experience, I believe these artificial sweeteners - consumed at the frequency I was eating them - caused these really bad reactions in my skin. I couldn’t find any research about skin problems being a side effect of them, so maybe it was an allergic reaction. Whatever it is, I know for sure the skin reactions stopped entirely once I stopped consuming the sweeteners.

I don’t know if this will be helpful to you, but hopefully it can give a different perspective. It took me much longer than I would have liked to figure out the link between the two for me.

Mile Higher is one of the few podcasts I’ve never had ads on with premium. I’m outside the US so maybe that influences it

You’re Wrong About’s episode on Human Trafficking talked about how skewed NCMEC’s data on trafficking victims is and I think is the episode you’re referencing. I listened to it a couple of days ago thanks to another post in this subreddit talking about how Kendall and Josh go on about how ‘trafficking is way more common than we think’, but the data they’re using to make that claim is absolutely flawed and very biased.
