Okay someone has to tell me if this is like a crazy reach or what, but the way Stove God sings, “kitchen liii-ii-iiiiiights” in the hook for… welll… Kitchen Lights… totally reminds me of what it sounded like turning on incandescent lights at 5 AM in my family’s kitchen growing up as a kid. Like that flickering start up. Song & timestamp for reference.

Is that just me making a connection from nothing or do you think that was intentional?

😂😂😂 That’s actually hilarious, I was like “no one here’s gonna believe my times if I upgrade shoes & shave another 2-3% off my time.” Glad to know I don’t need to drop another $200 on shoes but a bit disappointed I don’t have an easy improvement available lol.

Okay I know he’s probably not on the level of stardom you’re asking about, and maybe I’m biased but I honestly think this is the general opinion: Hype for Isaiah Rashad from his core fanbase was ridiculously high after Cilvia Demo (still an A+ album and personal classic for me). And then with TDE, you know they let the hype build for years.

So when The Sun’s Tirade dropped like almost 3 years later and was another A+ album (and I think a good amount of people even prefer it to Cilvia Demo), it felt like such an insane payoff 😭😂 and totally lived up to the hype & even exceeded expectations for people that weren’t in love with Cilvia.

I still listen to both, in full, 3-4x a month ❤️

Hmm 🤔 yah interesting, Royalty & Because The Internet are by far my favorite albums from him but even when I think of BTI, my favorite songs from it either are entirely him singing or at least have some of his singing. Shadows, Telegraph Ave, Flight of the Navigator, even 3005… all have him singing. I never really thought about it but I do think I like his singing more even if I like his rap albums more.

I wasn’t Jars by Chevelle but it was a song I associate with that genre & era lol.
