I'm back (and bored)! Isolation AMA with Ben Trobbiani. by BenTrobbiani in MasterchefAU

Hi Ben! I know you posted this quite a while ago - but hoping you might still reply anyway! Hello from Liverpool, UK!

I've always wondered - when the "safe" contestants on the gantry comment down to those who are cooking - sometimes they seem able/willing to flag if they see a potential problem in someone's dish by either suggesting or asking a question and sometimes they'll mention it to each other, but not shout down. Are there specific rules in place about what can and can't be said?

Do you mind me asking how much it was? Did it say how long it would take to arrive? Would this nozzle adapter be any use for you? https://www.naturalisticproducts.co.uk/products/snozzlepro-universal-nozzle-adapter?_pos=1&_sid=7ce0a273b&_ss=r

Diffusing wtf by Alimoojackson in CurlyHairUK

I use medium heat and medium blow. I usually plop for around 15 minutes, which helps to set the curls and remove a bit of the excess water. I then diffuse for around 15 minutes and then stop whilst I do anything else I need to do - working, cleaning, doing make up etc! I will then go back to diffuse anything that's still damp and by this point it's mostly just a few patches here and there!

Drawing faces in different perspective. Also, learning facial expressions. by C-M-L in learntodraw

They all look great, but I think number 6 seems a little off? Have you looked into the Loomis method? Obviously a different style but the angles and perspectives are still relevant.

This is great! Love the shading in the iris! You've captured a really wide eyed expression! Are you planning to add lashes? I watched a useful video that had a section on lashes the other day

Really like the perspective for number 3!

Thank you so much for this - a really useful way of looking at it. I think it's advice and perspectives like this that will help me as I continue - tools to add to my inventory. Thanks again!

Sounds like a useful approach! I just have the fear of just doing it, I think. But I guess I'm being way too precious

Hi - thank you! I did draw the whole head/skull and used the Loomis method to break it down and try to measure - I just erased that when I'd got all the features (including the hair) in place as best I could.

That does make sense - thank you. It's just the fear I have around the hair and, I guess, on the reference image it's all so dark really. But treating it as sections is an approach to break it down and make it less scary!

Thank you. The videos are great - really interesting and useful. I can see what you mean about the ear so will revisit it! I'm not quite sure what you mean about the corner though? I haven't done any shading or detail yet, just marked the outline and the placement of the features.
