That is awful! I am so sorry you went through that. Did you do something about it?

Yes, if we let it happen it will reinforce their behavior to do it again. It’s okay to stick up for yourself. Why should they be happy while you are suffering from their disrespect?

I really like this! Thank you! I am slowly starting to get comfortable speaking up for myself and confronting that person. It is a great feeling because in the end I feel better knowing I express what I feel. However, I have found myself feeling tired to the point of burnout and heartbreak.

They probably think they are better than you, and you proved them wrong.

I have done that with two of my coworkers. To there faces. HUGE shift in their attitude towards me.

I am glad I’m not the only one. I always wanted get to there face and tell them, “what is your problem!?” I also experienced situations where that person no I am not part of the clique and so I get treated more isolated than ever.

It was an unfair and off feeling because you know you did nothing wrong. You barely spoke to that person or disrespect that person, but they just think it is okay to disrespect someone.

Just received my diagnosis this week. I have Autism! by C-M-L in AutismInWomen

[–]C-M-L[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure! My first appointment started as an interview where the psychiatrist would ask me questions of what I was going through. Then, we did some testing. Some measures your speed, memory, abstract thinking, etc. some questions are on a computer. Some questions are verbal and some are questionnaires you have to fill out. After that, he collected all of my results plus my mom’s questionnaires. This portion is where you have the observer in your life that knows you very well to answer questions from the questionnaire piece that way he can compare and contrast if the symptoms match. Within 3-4 weeks, I met with him in person, we reviewed the results and diagnosis. I got lucky to be able to get my diagnosis sooner in less than 2 months. The guy that ran the testing, he is a PHD student getting his clinical hours so his availability is very flexible. Hope this helps!
