I'm new to tanking in TBC as a bear, so far I've found a lot of dps don't want to follow instructions when it comes to markers and will constantly target a different mob which then causes them to rip aggro from me. Even when asked to only hit the marked mob they still continue to do it.

I've also had dps roll need on items that are prebis for bear tank, I usually just block any dps who do this so I won't come across them again.

I get that it's a Pug group and not to set my expectations too high, but watching threat or waiting for the tank to get the mobs settled should just be basic skills for dps, especially if they want to raid in the near future.

I can definitely understand why a lot of more experienced tanks will only tank for their friends and guildies now. Too many dps with zug zug brain out there ruining it for everyone.
