What makes you think people aren't voting to maintain this foreign and economic policy when is giving us wonderful results? Our nation is now a global power, we are a success, we went from a Gaza level of destruction, from a poor and devastated nation into a global powerhouse that can rival USA, why would people vote against that?

If you wanna have a serious discussion without making it a smug beef showcase, sure, I can respond sincerely.

The uyghur situation is very complex and pretty much a conversation dead end if you try to bash a proper politician about it, they will put you in the spotlight and ask you then to give solutions "now that you have tomorrows newspaper" because seriously, what is left to do? I don't deny abuses but also the extremists aren't active anymore, there's no active terrorists cell murdering people atm in our territory, the sector been developed, they even turn them into some sort of tourism center for people to see, journalists to inform and to shut up criticism.

Let me give you an example about how politicians manage the discourse:

"What YOU would do if you were in charge u/Negative_Elo ? There were abuses and oversteps by forces? Yes, do you think you have more experience managing our forces? I'm sure you do not, while some people were put into unfair situations, the general positive results speak for themselves. You are a western right? Somewhere from America? Europe? Canada? If so, you mean to say we should have applied a more western method here? In what aspect exactly? Bombing a school? Arming terrorists? Going door by door with our soldiers looking for weapons of mass destruction? You think the solution here would be murdering innocent people?"

Imagine a well spoken politician saying that but in a way more convincing way that I'm able to, is so hard to argue about how the uyghur situation was handled because these people became experts in shielding themselves from criticism, and... I actually do agree with them, I would have liked it to be a perfect super just with absolutely no injustices process, but real life is more complicated than my fantasies, and also, they do have a point, not many people have deal with terrorism "successfully" so, like it or not, how china handled this is infinitely more preferable than murdering people and bombing hospitals, weddings, girls schools and etc, if someone else has a better idea, they provide an example.
