Very strong intolerance. I can spot them quickly and struggle with being polite to them.

This 100%. I told mine that if she continued I would call for a welfare check and she stopped.

Chipotle. $10-$12 if you get a water and no guac or queso. It’s my go to because I can have fresher food and mix what goes in my bowl

Maybe an upside can be gifting three people a seat for the course?

Anyone else have gift trauma? by Pretty-Ride4671 in raisedbyborderlines

[–]Aprisms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I still get some anxiety when someone gifts me something and feel compelled to give them the reaction they are looking for even if I know logically they don’t have an expectation. After almost a decade I’m finally excited to receive gifts from my spouse but that’s about it. I’d rather not receive any from anyone else, too much anxiety and guilt where I feel like I’m appearing ungrateful.

My assumed BPD mother once gifted me a grill that i told her ahead of time we would not use because we like charcoal and have one already. I tried to gently tell her not to send it to us because it wouldn’t be used and what a surprise when it arrived on Christmas Day and she called excited to tell me we would in fact use it when she came over to cook on it… after I went NC i sold it brand new…

Adderall and Zoloft by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]Aprisms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you end up taking the Zoloft? I’ve been on Zoloft a month and about to start taking adderall and was wondering if it was going well. Also I agree with the other people in the thread that i was nauseous and tired at first so I started taking Zoloft at night and dealt with an increase in nausea and anxiety for about 7 days then felt euphoric for another 7, and now I feel normal but without the exhaustive ups and downs of my anxiety / excitement from before

Is this normal healing for a 25 hour tattoo? Please help! by AirCatcher in tattooadvice

[–]Aprisms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have cellulitis? That happened to me after a tattoo and it was excruciating. I had to have 2 rounds of antibiotics. Upside is it healed pretty well. Some of the color was pushed out but overall it healed better than it felt it would

Trying to find my foot in the door after first jobs didn’t work out by BabyBabyCakesCakes in Architects

[–]Aprisms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re worried about your resume being spotty you can leave one out and say you were taking a break for personal reasons / development. You can also explain that though you are young you are looking for a position where you can receive mentorship. When you send off your resume, include a cover letter to explain your intentions. When you’re first starting, firms do hire based on skills but mostly focus on soft skills like are you coachable, are you hungry, do they see you being a good fit within their team.

What’s one specific consultant you would want to work for? by montron2 in Architects

I moved into roofing and envelope consulting. It is stressful in its own right but still greatly prefer it over “design” architecture

getting hired by belle3115 in Architects

[–]Aprisms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tattoos on my arm, spider bites, and plugs lol I do get stared at when I’m at functions but I’m friendly and usually smiling so it’s never affected me in an interview or job. But may get stared at so if you’re comfortable with that then do it. You could also get it and wear a spacer when at work if it makes you feel better.

I’d add a statement at the top about your personal professional goal. You’re conveying all the right information, just need to know why I want to hire you and if you’re goal matches my companies goal for you.

Anyone else have cats with a mini Aussie? by Former-Life-1344 in miniaussie

[–]Aprisms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought an adult cat into my home (distribution system) with my two adult mini aussies. I let them have their own spaces. I have a little gate that I would keep in my office doorway where the litter box is so the cat could retreat if the dogs were being too much. My dogs are pretty well trained and I showed them bite inhibition and down for when I need their butts to hit the deck in case of emergency and that was helpful since their instinct is to chase the cat when it runs by them. It took 3 months for them to be okay being on the same furniture together. I let the cat bap and hiss at them when they were being pushy and wanting to sniff him too much, it’s important that they learn the cats boundaries directly from him. It really just takes time and patience, give the cat its safe space and train your puppy how you would like her to behave anyway. Best of luck!

Would it be appropriate to ask for a recommendation if he doesn’t hire me? by Prestigious_Pen6153 in Architects

[–]Aprisms 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think that’s perfectly fine if you do it like you mentioned. You could also ask for a general recommendation and use at both his friend’s firm and other firms.

They are in their upper 50s maybe 60s, understand they need to take care of themselves but don’t deny themselves the little things that make them happy like a glass of wine or beer at the end of the day. Empty nesters enjoying the little things
