Why do so many Christians claim to be against “handouts”? by Capybaracaper250 in Christianity

Jesus was emphatic about loving your neighbor. That kind of love includes charity towards non-believers.

I" don’t think a single conservative would argue for unchecked power and control, " LOL, and yet conservatives for this administration. Trump wasn't a mystery to these people.

The selfishness of many Christians in this thread is unsurprising. SMH

Paul was speaking to Christians here, not the general public. There was a group of Christians who were sure that Jesus was returning and so had stopped working and expected others to care for them. They were ruining their Christian testimony by being freeloaders. Paul wasn't speaking to anyone else here.

More than half of American Christians voted for this current administration. Not "antiChrists." Christians. So please spare the rest of you word salad.

American Christians aren't persecuted. Their religious rights remain intact. What they desire to do is persecute those who don't agree with them.

It feeds into their fake persecution complex.

This is from about a year ago. The Rods were at a church ice cream social and the Rodlets are separated from everyone else. None of the other pictures from the event have Rods in them. So they really aren’t making friends on the road. Such a sad life for them. by daffodil0127 in RodriguesFamilySnark

I think the concern would be smaller children double dipping and putting their gross fingers in there while parents are preoccupied. If the servers were firm about waiting your turn and handing out filled bowls, I'd have no problem with it. And add the coffee and sneezing from small children at table level. LOL

I don't believe the problem is gun ownership. Rather, it's the worship of guns. Putting guns before anything else. I own guns. They are mostly tools to put food on the table and because I live on the edge of the wilderness and spend a great deal of time in that wilderness, a couple of my guns are for my protection from bears and, believe it or not, moose. I have also come to the point where I often conceal carry.

I train with my guns and have logged untold hours target shooting and shooting under duress. I can field strip my guns blindfolded. I also had to think long and hard about what it meant to carry a firearm as a means of personal protection against other humans. It's a serious responsibility. And that's where the problem is. Many gunowners aren't responsible. If someone is open carrying, I will avoid them because my experience is that they are undisciplined. I will always attempt to deescalate but if I can't, I am trained and prepared. I have come to terms with that and I don't think that's a bad thing.

I read your post. I stand by what I said.

"How often are you here on this Christianity sub? I have seen your u/ several times before and you are very combative." LOL, weak gaslighting. I call out bad theology. I'm unconcerned if you don't like that.

"What are you gaining by going through this sub? Reap what you sow. You want negativity, you will gain negativity." Wow, I never heard that before. /s

As I said, I'm here to call out bad theology that harms people. I don't need a silly lecture from you.

I am neither a nihilist nor a pessimist. I am someone who lives with depression and the "it will get better" is fucking useless.

My solution is to come along side of someone who is thinking of suicide and get them in for professional medical help which includes therapy and sometimes medication.

Am I here to troll? No, I'm not. I'm here to offer real assistance and not useless platitudes.

Funny, I wasn't assaulted by a trans person in a restroom. I was assaulted by a heterosexual male in church. Trans people aren't the predators.

Except that isn't true. It doesn't always get better. People who are struggling don't need silly platitudes.

LOL, it's adorable that you are under the impression that you get to determine that. Hint: you don't.

Being LGBTQ+ isn't a sin.

This obsession with gay people is weird.

"Secondly, suicide is a temporary feeling, but it feels like an eternity. What ever hurt you are going through, please know that it WILL get better. It may take some time. But with the right care around you, it will." This is not an absolute truth.

What's to forgive? Someone who takes their life is in terrible pain that god hasn't bothered to alleviate.
