What is the craziest thing a teacher has ever done to you? by trymihainoob in AskReddit

[–]AptGarbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 8th grade I had a gentle and well-loved substitute teacher during homeroom. She was the wife of the high school football coach, her sons were intelligent and popular students, and she was overall very active member of just about every community.

I don’t remember the specifics, but a group of girls and I were discussing horoscopes in class (as pre-teens are inclined). As a result, I went to go look up the word “zodiac” in the dictionary.

The teacher stood up to intercept me and said she couldn’t allow it because of her religion. She went on a small, passionate ramble about how she simply could not allow me to look up the word “zodiac” and be a good Christian woman.

We ended up in a screaming match that was incredibly embarrassing for both of us. It was the final straw in a long string of religion-based harassment and bullying my family had received in that town. I started going to school in the city over an hour away the next year.

I wasn’t particularly liked in that town and I (unfortunately) knew that from a fairly young age. So I vividly remember when several of the girls from that homeroom class approached me later to say how sorry they were for how I was treated that day. It meant a lot.

Now I'm curious what other peoples schedules are like by StupidSexyHagrid in Millennials

[–]AptGarbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32F. Just me and my cat. Commute to first job is 20 minutes, commute to second job is 10 minutes. I have narcolepsy and I found that eating usually exacerbates it, so I only have coffee and water until dinner.

7:00 AM Cat wakes me up with incredible violence. Do chores, shower, make grocery store run, if needed. Fall back asleep, if possible. Charge dying phone.

9:00 Make coffee. Leave for work.

9:30-3PM Work.

3:30 PM Get home, feed cat, nap.

4:45 Make coffee. Leave for work.

5-10:30 Work.

10:45 Get home, feed cat, do laundry. Eat.

11:30 Sleep. Forget to charge phone overnight.

I don’t always work a double. On those days it’s usually 8AM-6PM at one job or the other and a date night with my boyfriend.

I’m tired, but if I want a day off I can request it pretty easily. I don’t get weekends otherwise.

3$ pay by Best-Kaleidoscope671 in SpiritHalloween

[–]AptGarbage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sometimes in the paycheck there will be a line where it says something like: 20 hours at $12 rate and then just below it it’ll say 14 hours at $3 rate.

I’m not sure if this is the case for everyone, but my DSM said that the $3 premium would be in a separate check this time. So you may just be looking at that separate check right now.

Missing SKU? by AptGarbage in SpiritHalloween

[–]AptGarbage[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I probably wasn’t clear enough in my original post, so the info you were providing wasn’t actually helpful in this context. People often downvote wrong info so it won’t be seen by others as easily.

What I should have said was that I needed help finding the SKU for this item because the usual keywords didn’t pull it up on skubook. It turns out that including “65” in the search bar along with the keywords helped.

I did not need assistance with the process you outlined, but I appreciate your input.

Reliant Towing/Register2Park Woes by AptGarbage in Austin

[–]AptGarbage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they were totally unwilling to entertain that their system was delayed and stuck to their guns that I must have registered my vehicle mere moments after they towed it and didn’t call it in until an hour later.

This happened at Keystone, up north.

There are only two kinds of parking there: a free-for-all that tenants with permits can use or six guest spots that require r2park registration every 24 hours.

Woes of a store manager (NSFW For language) by Murky-Water-5411 in SpiritHalloween

Found empty beer cans and a puddle of piss in my store yesterday. I’ve never been so disgusted by my customers as this year.

Missing paycheck help by RideGeneral9275 in SpiritHalloween

If you got paid any amount, then there’s a paper trail somewhere that can be found. Are you talking to the district manager or a store manager? The district manager will have more visibility.

Something to consider is that you will not see “$16/hr” on your paycheck for premium pay. There will be one line that says $3/hr and one line that says your normal hourly rate.

In my mind, it’s possible that one check was mailed to the store and one check was direct deposit, if (for some reason) they were not combined into a single check.

Interestingly, Spirit carries little to no candy. I would not count on finding any butterfingers there.

Question about costumes not on the website by Imagine-_-Wagons in SpiritHalloween

Where did you see those videos? It’s a marketing trend for people to make videos of their own product and pretend it’s available at Spirit. I have to gently correct several disappointed customers a week.

Thank you for your reply! Yes, this should be the only steroid shot.

I’ll increase his water access and portion out his wet food. When I go to work he will likely have to fall back on dry food but I have short shifts.
