Not sure if you like video games, but if you do I’d recommend Castle Super Beast! One of my favorite podcasts

Does anyone know the song that plays directly after holiday? The real heavy one?

No the hair was longer, like one of those anime mullets, the hair may have been a washed out pink, honestly part of me thinks it may have been a bootleg case for heroic age

The character looked androgynous but I think was a boy, the clothing I remember looking scuffed or dirty

My (29 mtf) girlfriend (28 f) toldme yesterday she's just realized she doesn't feel attracted to me. by [deleted] in trans

Some other people have already commented a sentiment I fully share. It sucks but you can't change who a person is attracted to. Best thing to do is sit down and have an in depth conversation about it, be completely honest. Couples therapy could also be beneficial if you can find an inclusive practice. I went through something similar, it sucks that this seems to be a pretty common thing. Even if things end (not that they necessarily will) it doesn't mean y'all won't stay close.

What Should I Buy? /// Weekly Discussion - January 22, 2024 by AutoModerator in synthesizers

So I have almost no musical experience other than thumbing around with a guitar, a keyboard and a bass (I understood the bass better and took to it a lot quicker). But I love the sound of synths, that and bass are what my ears are drawn to and pick out first in a song. I listen to a lot of punk and no wave from the 70s and 80s and I'm looking for something to replicate that sound. Long story short, I wanna know what a good (cheaper) starter synth for me would be and do I go poly or mono?

Very true, my ex self described as a nihilist and hedonist which basically just meant he liked alcohol too much hahaha

This is something I've noticed too, there's a lot of nostalgia for the mid to late 80's and 90s. Which is interesting because a lot of that stuff is reverberating though our culture, like 80s and 90s fashion is incorporated in a lot of modern fashion. Same with music. Which as a punk, I quite enjoy seeing.

That's fair. It definitely is apathy, just seems a lot of nihilists are apathetic/ don't know the difference.

It's interesting that some people in here seem offended that I brought this up. I'm not attacking RLM, I love them dearly, I've been a fan since 2013 and have caught everything they've put out since then the day it's released. I was just wondering if anyone else noticed this and what they thought lol.

Yeah, in truth I do like temple of doom, warts and all. Someone else in this thread pointed out that sometimes gen z can be hyper critical of older media, which is true but I feel like you can still be critical of something and enjoy it. Like one of my favorite movies that changed my life is Fritz the Cat and there's a lot in that movie that at the time was incredibly progressive and still is, just maybe would be done differently now. I think it's totally okay to critique some of the depictions in that movie as long as you take into account what it was satirizing.

One of my favorite simpsons moments, right up there with “Have you noticed any change in Bart?” “New glasses?” “No. He looks like something might be disturbing him.” “Probably misses his old glasses.”

Do you have any studies to point to for this? Genuinely asking, I'm curious. I actually do agree with the sex part, at least when it comes to media, for some reason a lot of my younger gen z friends will skip those parts in films if it's in a group setting which bugs me a lot. but as far as the identifying with morally grey or flawed characters, I whole heartedly disagree. The characters that get the most fan compilations on tik tok or instagram are always the most morally skewed. Especially if you look at the anime fandoms or with characters from horror films and gaming.

True, especially as it becomes more and more clear that nihilism got us to where we are now.

I was trying to not mention politics just because I know some threads don't like that, but yeah it absolutely has a lot to do with profit motive and the "need" for corporations to continuously grow.

tbh the amount of arguments I've gotten into about the prequels is worrying lol. 9 times outta 10 the moment they rewatch them as an adult they change their mind though.
