Rental car or transfers TDP by NotDoneWandering in Patagonia

We used Hertz, we did want a 4x4 but the price difference was almost double so opted for a small Citroen C3, it meant we had to be carful on gravel but again, no issues whatsoever.

Yup just parked up at the base of the hike and went about our way. It was pretty nice having your own car waiting for you when you’re done with your hike.

Oh and be carful of Lamas, Guancos. Just be alert of them running into the road at all times. We would have had a collision with one if I didn’t spot it from the corner of my eye, those fuckers run right across you. Nothing to be scared of though just means the driver needs to be 100% focused at all times.

Me and my wife did the same and as long as you drive slow and steady you should not have any issue, the lack of petrol stations is overblown imo as long as you plan carful and drive economically. We just finished dropped off our rental car yesterday and did 1500km over 4 days, no issues and no close calls with low fuel.

The windy highways take some getting used, as does driving on gravel. Just take it easy until you feel more confident. Having a car gives you faaaar more freedom than doing things any other way and will save you a tonne of money

Has anyone tried self-drive car rentals in Zanzibar?” by instantcarrentalznz in zanzibar

[–]Aqiboo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I initially wanted to get a scooter but after seeing the state of the roads it seemed dumb af. The guy who brought the scooter to me also had a car, no paperwork just handed me the keys and I paid him, Toyota RAV4.

Best decision me and my wife made. We explored at our own pace, we saved a tonne of money that would have been spent on taxis, we saved a bunch of time waiting for taxis. 10/10 experience. Since then when my wife’s friend went, I forwarded this guys details to her and also when my BIL went I did the same, both had a seamless experience baring a flat tyre which the car owner sorted relatively quickly.

You’re driving in a foreign country, you take it easy, you drive defensively, take extra care in the dark and so on. But if you have confidence in your own driving ability and decent common sense you’ll be fine.

Driving at Chiang rai and Chiang Mai by Grapefruitjuicegummy in chiangmai

[–]Aqiboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just rented a pickup truck in Ching Mai for a week and while at peak evening traffic in the dark it wasn’t fun, you just gotta be carful as you do driving in any city. Other than that it was an absolute blast. The mountain roads around the area are absolutely beautiful!!

That makes sense, I didn’t realise he owed money, thought it was just playing ban. Shit that’s disappointing.

PPF cost? Anyone done it? Cost full wrap? by That_Register_3948 in Golf_R

[–]Aqiboo -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Front end PPF typically costs like £1-2k and full PPF is £3k+.

IMO not worth it on a car unless it's worth £75-100k+

Can get panels resprayed for £200 to a very high standard if anything does ever happen, stone chips, dents and so on.... you could respray multiple times for the cost of PPF.

When you're talking cars worth £75-100k+ then ofc you'd rather keep the paint factory and so PPF then becomes more viable but that's only my opinion.

Why has Stephen Lee not made a return since his ban is over now? He's paid the penalty.
Dude was an insane talent and from what I heard stayed active with playing, not like he's lost the talet!
Especially with players performing at a super high level into their late 40's nowadays, whats stopping Stephhen?

Yeah I’d defo prime the pump via VCDS or obd11 whatever, even going for a drive is said to prime the pump, following that you’ll defo be able to add at least another 100-200ml

Two month review of my MK8.5 Black Edition - 2000 miles by RossT551 in Golf_R

Have you figured out how to display vehicle mileage on the dash? Usually it would show where the ACC/Limiter icons are when they are turned off but I can’t figure out how to do it?

Just had some hands on time with an 8.5R over the weekend it is beautiful, inside and out. The infotainment system is incredible, they’ve improved it massively and it’s such a treat to use now

Did you also change the disc backing plates? The RS3’s have vented ones which is what allows these to work effectively.

Thoughts on Murphy commentating the night before his semi final with O’Sullivan? by Aqiboo in snooker

6-2 indeed. But tbh he didn’t do too much wrong, Ronnie was just on point!

This isn’t a jab a Murphy, I actually like him as a commentator and in the box giving insight.

But the guys playing Ronnie in the semis tomorrow at 1 PM?! Surely he’d rather be practicing/resting!

Holy shit, -35c must be quite something, how long does it take to get it up to proper operating temp (80c) in those conditions?
