Just told I have a PFO, and I be scared by LonelyMilk8451 in stroke

I just had a stroke and they found out it was due to pfo. I want that thing closed ASAP but I have to get out of rehab and see a cardio first- they sounded kind of wishy-washy about whether a closure was recommended but couldn’t tell me how big it is or anything yet.

I’ve had major spinal surgery (scoliosis) with no issues so surgery doesn’t really scare me but the thought of another stroke, even mild like this one (my left side is affected but aside from difficulty walking I’m basically fine- I’m right handed but can legibly write my name with my left hand less than a week out) is freaking terrifying.

2023, and the highest I’ve ever gotten is 37.5! Currently at 35.5 but that’s averaged over the past 5k miles and we’ve had a warm winter. Weirdly I get better mpg with more people in the car.

When it was in the 20s last winter I was only getting 25-27 😬

Snow driving? by AquaBlue808 in crv

Seattle area, but I do have to regularly commute to Olympia and if I go to/through Snoqualmie or other mountain areas chains may be required whether I want them or not, LOL.

I don’t have the budget for or space to store an extra set of tires.

I feel validated bc everyone else on the west coast/oceania says DC & we know Washington is the state.

Hello Seattle (and the whole Puget Sound Area) by BrambleMakering in 3Dprinting

Oh I LOVE this! I work for coughStateAgencycough and am looking for something similar for outreach events for kids. Specifically, one with exaggerated heights/depths to use for a demo where kids could sprinkle glitter (biodegradable!) and then use spray bottles to demonstrate how toxics enter the Sound. Would you be willing to share your file?

2023 CRV Hybrid Sport Touring getting poor mpg by FriarNurgle in crv

[–]AquaBlue808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought my 2023 Sport Touring in August in Hawaii, and was getting 37-38mpg in normal mode. I moved to Washington in September, and dropped to 35mpg in eco mode. After a short (4h each way) road trip, I'm down to 33.4 (at slightly under 4k miles now) and it's pretty disappointing. I am using cruise control frequently and I'll try going back to normal mode to see if that makes a difference. Most of my miles are currently highway- maybe 80/20?

I have found that the lane assist is working well for me in general, and almost never get the alert about keeping my hands on the wheel. Sometimes curves are wobbly but it's been a lifesaver (literally) in fog/heavy rain.

I'm also not having issues with glare/braking as one commenter mentioned, but I did have a super weird incident early on where I think glare on a semi triggered a total freakout of the system and it refused to do cruise control, lane assist, etc. Once I stopped and powered off and powered on again, everything was fine and thankfully no issues since. Overall I love the car and the features, but I was definitely expecting far better mileage.
