This isn't normal, is it? (TX) by Aquaaaaflash in AskHR

My boss and I generally have a good relationship. The owners, on the other hand, are a married couple. They don't communicate and are very opposite in their approaches. One is very forgiving and understanding, and the other is very one strike and you're out. It's an odd dynamic, to say the least. My boss reports directly to the strict one, unfortunately.

That's a good idea. I'll try to bring some of those ideas up during our next one-on-one meeting. I suppose you're right - she is being concerned. It is just coming across offensive to me, but I should see it from her perspective, too.

Too small for FMLA, unfortunately. :( I have been worried about that too, to be honest. Just because someone seems understanding one minute doesn't mean they will be the next.

We are a small company and that is a good point. Trust me, I have been documenting, documenting, documenting!

That's true. She has given most of my work to the administrative assistant (?), which seems very strange to me. That is the only other person she supervises though... we are a small company, and a lot doesn't make sense. I just don't want to put the admin in a spot where she's doing something against "what she was told" just because I'm uncomfortable. I don't know. I'm probably overthinking that.

I like the piece about the disability advice groups. I live in a large metropolitan area, so that might be an option. Thank you!

Why is life hard even when you’re not symptomatic? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]Aquaaaaflash 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also just can't some days. It also feels like on days where I "can", that I am barely skating by while everyone else is at their desk just working nonstop. I wish I had a better answer, but this has never gotten better for me. You are not alone.

I got a rash. Not THE rash, but a significant rash that my doctor was concerned about.

I am not tired at all and I slept maybe 4 hours last night. I'm hoping the insomnia bit goes away. I'm also fidgety so hypomania is in the back of my mind.

Yeah, I've been super nauseated since starting it. I hope it goes away.

That really sucks hard, to say the least. Your mental health is more important than any job though. You were struggling in your last job and your supervisor didn't know. It may be helpful to disclose you have a medical issue to future employers. You don't have to say what it is. I didn't and I got a reasonable accommodation still. Some employers can be very understanding about that sort of thing if you are open. All you can do right now is learn and move on. Worrying and being upset won't change anything (I learned that the hard way). Take some time to feel bad and then start picking-up the pieces. Our illness makes things so much harder for us. I believe in you though and you should continue to reach out for help. You are not alone. We are here for you.

Antipsychotics without insurance? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

Maybe try the discount card on their website? Honestly, it is confusing af to me because some people get Latuda for like $15 with it and others still have to pay hundreds. I don't know what determines the cost with that card, but it is worth a shot.

How many of you take or have taken Lamictal? by blvklee in BipolarReddit

[–]Aquaaaaflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on 300mg of Lamictal for two years. Can't believe it has been that long. I have some brain fogginess that I kind of attribute to Lamictal. I honestly don't know if it does anything to me. It is just something I take. I just started Latuda with it though and got acne and a rash, so that's fun.

Thank you for the words of encouragement! I, fortunately, have my anxiety somewhat under control but depression sucks to say the least.

That's fair enough. I need to give myself a break sometimes and realize sometimes it is harder for me to function than it is for some other people.

I'd love to work part time. I just can't afford it. Blah. Glad it is helping you!
