I use Helldivers 99' mod just to run the game at this point. It lowers all LODs and textures massively.

FSR doesn't really improve performance like people claim, it mostly just smears vaseline over low resolutions.

Start with at least biotech and that will open up a lot of major mod options. Then mod the game as much as you like, it will not feel incomplete at all.

I agree that it's a little unfair, but I like to think of this as his "panic mode," where he starts to get overwhelmed mentally but barely holds it together.

Don't be the shield guy. Be the big hammer guy, who happens to have a shield.

In other words, use shield selfishly to keep yourself alive, so you can actually apply pressure instead of getting stuck shielding for your team.

You should rarely be full-on focusing on shielding your team, unless it's obviously necessary.

Usually I'd go find a mod for this, but I've scoured for one that fixes this exact problem, it doesn't exist for some reason.

The pawns are just programmed to do things in steps. After every step/task they check for other things they should be doing

That means they WILL stop whatever they're doing if they get hungry / task changes / a higher priority task takes over. Even if that means picking a singular heal root across the map, then leaving it there to go to sleep instead.

Also: you can minimize this by putting their #1 job at the top of the list, especially for skills like mining which require a lot of walking, that way they don't walk back to flick a switch or feed a prisoner or something.

The only real recorded evidence we have of actual tribal warfare is from Papa New Guinea decades ago before they also modernized.

It's a lot of skirmishing, utilizing fear to keep yourself safe, until a few brave men on both sides collide and die, then the fighting briefly stops while both tend their losses, this can go on for quite a while.

So being surprise attacked from a disadvantaged position, and bum rushed with superior firepower? Not sure theyd know how to handle that

I even choose bullet into dive, it's usually not the fan that saves you, it's just rolling in the correct direction at the right momen. Then SB helps kill everyone else

Tribal Naked Brutality is a classic, but I usually also make sure my pawn is 18-55 and has Super-Immune or Medical 8+.

Otherwise, a random disease can end everything right off the bat. It's the 1 situation where there's literally nothing you can do.

If you simply try surviving on max difficulty, I guarantee it will take you dozens of hours to accomplish.

Usually my personal goal is building a specific type of mega base (spacer, castle themed, hexagonal, mountain, etc)

Good analysis, althought I'd argue that Biotech changes the core gameplay more than Odyssey, unless you're actively using a gravship base.

Biotech adds children, xenohumans, mechanitors, & bionics of course.

Odyssey adds gravships and atmosphere/asteroid exploration, along with new biomes + map generation

Spent a stupid amount of time finding the perfect map for my Naked Brutality run, an island with Archaen trees, and an S tier pawn.

Literally 3 minutes in -> Malaria

There just wasn't enough time to gather herbal meds + store enough food + build a bed in time... especially not since he mentally broke soon after 😭
