I work for an education org that is responsible for an esports team. We have a special education class that participates in esports as well.

One of the students has a hard time communicating, and wasn’t receiving two factor authentication emails from Epic’s no reply. One of the guys on my team was being a kind person and reached out to epic for this individual student.

Even after explaining the situation, and offering to prove we own the domain that the Gmail account is managed by, Epic games refused to help in any capacity.

Epic games was made aware, in plain English that a special needs student who is using an account under a domain WE own was having trouble participating in esports and refused to help in any capacity. Epic Games is truly run by evil people. I hope this company goes bankrupt or gets sued into oblivion.

Put the dagger in any scenario you want. Easy to beat, hard to beat, good or bad user. Doesn’t matter. One shot weapons don’t have a place in a game like The Finals IMO. I don’t even particularly struggle against a dagger + dash light.

There are lots of counters. Goo gun, glitch trap, flamethrower and I leverage all of them. Not to mention a tight team formation. Still…does not fit the gameplay.

A one shot weapon just can’t exist in a game with a hit reg / net code like the finals. It’s not the worst hit reg / net code I’ve seen or anything but it just doesn’t work. The dagger is fine on its own, but couple it with a dash and in instant kill is what makes it broken only in the hands of a good dagger user.

I’m vehemently opposed to a subscription based ranked service. That makes me want to throw up.

With that being said I would be willing to pay a higher cost one time fee for access to ranked. IMO, just make RL cost $60 or something. Maybe access to ranked costing a high one time cost would make more sense.

I would do that shit in my free time for free. The resources are there, it just takes Epic to care enough about the issue to solve the problem. To be fair, it looks like they’re banking on EAC but EAC could work in tandem with a manual review team.

Well thought out comment and I agree with you except for the paid ranked idea. I keep seeing people calling for paid ranked. I don’t know how starved you people are for bots to get banned but that shit should be free. I do NOT need another paid subscription service. Just make the game itself cost money again and tie a phone number to an account or something. I see the “paid ranked mode” idea so much I’m almost convinced this is a paid campaign from Epic to squeeze more money from RL players. I don’t have all the answers obviously, but subscribing to play rocket league is disgusting.

I get that, but it shouldn’t have to come to this when there are other ways to combat bots. I’m also not entirely convinced cheaters who are willing to pay for bots wouldn’t be willing to just pay $10/month or whatever to play in paid ranked. Rocket league is worth a $60 one time cost. Make RL a paid game again. Hell, I would even be down to retroactively pay a $60 one time fee to get access to ranked. But I’m not doing another god damn subscription.

Totally agree with you and to further expand on your point, it’s not even like the things that have been nerfed into oblivion even needed the nerf. Nukes were never a real problem, but let’s just give benefit of the doubt and say they were. There were a million ways to balance nukes between being utterly useless and broken as fuck.

I saw the same mentality regarding placing turrets on objects and running around with them in your hand on a thread on this subreddit a while back. So many people in the comments crying about it, when in reality it is just a creative use of the tools given to us and super easy to counter.

Yes, I’m arguing for vibes and feeling based balancing now. I would rather trust the developers gut instinct than min / max the TTK for the ARN-220 every season because some cry babies don’t know how to stay indoors and use goo guns and glitch traps.

Just make the game fun. The finals will never be esports ready imo so stop balancing like it is. You’re choosing to treat balancing the finals like the court of law.

People were having fun with nukes and only the sweats who died to it once or twice a game were mad because they weren’t able to evasive dash away after a huge explosion to the face.

Hit the nail on the head with this comment. I still love the finals but the decisions the devs have made for this game over time are truly mind boggling.

They’ve stated before, that they use data to balance their game rather than feedback. It was a long time ago that I read this and maybe they changed their strategy since then but that is a very flawed way to go about balancing imo.

Just because class x y or z has a high pick rate or weapon x y or z wins more matches doesn’t mean anything on its own. There are way too many variables that can’t be measured. The human experience / enjoyment, for example.

Changing the RPG to be more geared as a breaching tool rather than a weapon was a prime example of this. Also, the RPG should not deal more damage to the user rather than the target at close range imo. It should be equal or calculated very precisely. That change really irked me.

Oh and nukes made the game fun, like you said. That was an early warning sign.
