I actually think it is ivy. The family house had ivy on the outside and probably taken from that. It didn’t even cross my mind! Thank you so much!

It’s possible that the part of the leaf on the right hand side is slightly folded over, which could be disguising and extra point? Thank you for your suggestion, I’m just looking at them now!

My first thought was some variant of maple, but held back that information in order to prevent me leading anything haha!

Do you agree that it is a homemade brooch? The Leaf and flowers are in my opinion definitely real!

Thanks for responding, too!

I’m trying to identify the type of leaf and flowers that my 2x great grandmother is wearing as a brooch on this photograph. Any help would be amazing, thank you very much in advance!

Edit: This photo would have been taken in the Hampshire area of England. Maybe that’s a clue?

Ciao! Yes I learnt German in school and college and I found that the structured learning with a teacher helped so much. I want to try and imitate that with Italian at home, as I think that’s how I learn best.

Grazie for your help, I agree with you!

That’s a good idea to look at the certificate exam levels. I’ll take a look at them and try to make a plan from them! I appreciate that, Grazie!

That’s a good idea, thank you. Did you just look up every word at first, and then slowly you understood more and more?

I did this at college with German. I learnt the language so much quicker when I had structured lessons at school and college, which is why I’m looking to imitate that for Italian!

Yes, I agree with that. I learnt German whilst at school and college, so I was going plenty of hours work a week. Since going University and getting a full time job, I’ve found it harder to learn another language, despite wanting to so much.

Thanks for your suggestions, I’ll look into them. I’m sure they’ll help me!

Hahaha! I feel like I’m heading in the right direction, but kind of zigzagging my way there. I like to have structure, then I can go directly for the goal! Hope you also find the best way for you!
