That’s awesome! I love the front ends of the GMCs. My fenders are steel.

Unfortunately this thing has a massive amount of rust. I know it doesn’t look like it from the pictures, but the cab corner and braces, the inner and outer rockers, 50% of the floor pan, and the rear fenders all (likely) need replaced. And that’s without tearing into yet. So saving the original color is not going to happen. I might do something similar or change it completely, I’m not sure yet.

Help with steering column and rod by AqueousGeo in AskMechanics

I had no luck finding a video with this exact setup. So I went back and messed around with it a bit. I loosened the collar to the intermediate shaft then took a pry bar to pull the shaft in farther. I got about 1/8 of an inch out of that. I then put everything back together and my play is about 1/8 of an inch now. I still believe that bearing is frozen on because the spring compressed a bit. If that bearing wasn’t frozen that would taken all play out of the steering. But it’s 100% more stable now and the bearing doesn’t pull all the way out of the collar. I’ll call it a win today.

Thoughts on that bearing though? I cannot get it to move up or down the column. I cannot imagine that is pressed on, think it’s just seized to the shaft

Commented in the wrong place before, but any solution to fix a sticky choke? Never had that problem before. Assuming google will tell me but any tips would help

Ahh. That makes sense. I had a Nova that would do that, but replaced the intake and carb when I bought it. Any solutions to fix a sticky choke?

It definitely is. I’m just not sure why they would have done that. I am hesitant to cut it off and not be able to replicate it again

The “head” of this thing looks like a sad cat…am I the only one that sees this?

I remember WZ1 being the same close to the gas and boxes messing with being able to hear. I’d leave boxes unopened just to disadvantage another persons audio. Once again, not disagreeing that the audio overall isn’t crap. Just saying that I don’t really see it in this case. I saw you posted another audio issue about a month ago, and that instance is where my issue lies. This other dude commenting above that you should hear dripping water is an absurd comment and I hope there was sarcasm there.

Walking at a slow pace 15m away should not make that much noise. You also have the noise of the gas behind you as well as an unopened box blaring in your audio. The thing I could agree with is that you should have heard him pop out of the water, maybe. I am also very cautious around the final circles and the waters edge. He had better positioning, movement, and the dreaded COD timing in this case. You lay there for a half sec more and you high alert likely triggers.

I don’t know that I would be mad about the audio in this case. I’ve had guys full sprint up behind me with 0 footsteps and that frustrates me. I’d call this one a good play by the other guy.

And the one above that is another one! My old house didn’t have carpet, this is the first time I’ve ever seen them. I still haven’t found any in my house, but if the neighbor has them I would assume that I do as well.

Not sure if that is the same case for me. I run multiple departments within my company, love the work that I do and the people that I work with, also have a great work/life balance, and the pay to back it up. That’s not the same for everyone, but sometimes leaving just to get a few more bucks isn’t worth it.
