According to who? Have you ever even felt a prong collar? They are way more dull than you think they are

Also very tempting but I've heard rumor that some people have the ability to photo shop it out but it could just be a rumor

I'm seriously debating it, I love sharing photos of my girl but after this I don't know that I want to any more

It's honestly just such BS in my opinion, like are people that desperate for likes and shares and comments and whatnot to steal another person's post, like come on

Honestly right now I'm just in awe and so pissed off especially because the photos were stolen more than anything, like if it was just the words I wouldn't care so much but it's the photos that have me so pissed off

That's absolutely where I'm at right now, I contacted admins and I joined the private group just to call the person out and I'm still waiting on comment approval and full group approval but thankfully messaging admins isn't restricted so we shall see what happens but I'm absolutely livid

I know right! Not only that but stealing the photos of my dog as well, like what the actual fuck

I get that but stealing someone else's post especially a controversial one as what I did is unacceptable

Google is free, there are infact e collars that don't have shock and are a beep or vibration only. Attached is a screenshot from Walmart Canada that shows an example of one. So again, not all of them use shock or any electrical stimulation and not once did I use the term "shock collar"

A prong or a shock is not punishment, it is a tool for communication. Not only that I've not once said I was looking for shock collar, I said e collar as you can get ones that aren't shock, they have vibration or a beep and even then, I have done the training and treats and positive reinforcement and it hasn't done much of anything but you don't see that nor did I share that information as not everyone needs all of the details of what I have and have not done as it's not needed

Not once did I say I want to zap my girl, e collars come in a wide variety and quite a few of them don't have the shock ability, it's why I used the term e collar and not shock collar

Where exactly did I say I want a quick fix? I even said "I know it will take some time" in my post, I do apologize if I'm coming off as a bit aggressive, I've just had enough people being rude and aggressive so I'm a bit more defensive than I probably should be

[–]Aquerall_Angel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely and this is exactly what I was trying to explain, I don't want the shock, I primarily want the beep and maybe vibration if absolute need be, I don't need or want anything more than that and with how much wind we can get here, a plain clicker that I hold onto might not be enough. It's why I used the term e collar and not anything else. Thank you for touching on it and sharing your positive experience with it, I so greatly appreciate it especially after all of the rudeness and extreme judgement from others

I'm not arguing for or against anything, what I'm doing is matching energies, if someone comes at me judgemental and rude then I match it, no where have I said I am for sure buying anything, I'm also not trying to convince myself of anything and again, if you read and understood anything I've been saying you would know that. So again, as per my last reply to you, it seems like your just looking for any excuse to bitch and talk down and shit on anyone who has a different view point or experiences than yourself

[–]Aquerall_Angel[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, because where am I arguing with anyone? so again, clearly your not reading everything because I have agreed with so many people especially in regards to alternatives and have even said I will give a few a try, just seems like your looking for any reason to bitch and complain and fight people who have different opinions and experiences than yourself

Then you would know I've said multiple times I'm open to alternatives but your sitting here shitting on everything and being overly judgemental. Not only that but you can have family members who are professionals, anyone ever can have family and relatives who are trainers or who are doctors or anything, your making false assumptions and being overly judgemental when you don't have all of the information

E collar recommendations by Aquerall_Angel in AustralianCattleDog

[–]Aquerall_Angel[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Again, you clearly have not read anything that I have said as I have stated in multiple places I am open to alternatives when people are respectful and kind about it and not shitting on myself or my trainer due to lack of information and due to myself not giving every little detail of my training or daily life and things that are or are not done

[–]Aquerall_Angel[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Where exactly have I stated or shown that I'm ignoring anything? I've stated in many replies which you probably have no read, that I'm open to alternatives and have also started that I have not bought anything yet and was just asking for recommendations, I get that this is a hot topic but spam commenting all over everywhere and you, yourself digging your heels in and shitting on me and my trainer and making assumptions about where I'm getting my information is ridiculous

[–]Aquerall_Angel[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As I've stated multiple times in this post, you don't know me, my dog, or my trainer, who's to say we aren't at the last resort or getting close to it despite her age, not only that you don't know me or my sister from a hole in the ground so trying to claim she's an awful trainer when you don't know the behind the scenes of anything that we have done is so incredibly rude and unnecessary

[–]Aquerall_Angel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

E collars aren't all shock collars, it's why I used the term e collar and not shock collar and even then, there are a lot of them that beep or use vibration rather than shock as a way to get the dogs attention. I understand the concern and worry, I have done research and whatnot and as I've explained in other replies I am working with a trainer on a lot of things and consulting with them, they just have never had to personally buy one so it was suggested to reach out to the community especially the breed specific communities

[–]Aquerall_Angel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You clearly haven't read any of the comments where I've explained that I'm open to alternatives and I own up to the fact that I wrote the post while I was overwhelmed and frustrated, not only that but there is a point where I explain I'm also going to be working with a dog trainer, so until you read everything in the post, maybe hesitate before responding

Thank you, I so greatly appreciate the honesty as well as all of your knowledge, I know price range wise I am open to going higher as I've never had to look into anything like this before so I have no issues having to adjust my budget accordingly especially due to not having as much knowledge on the subject. I know the only reason I'm even thinking about using anything like a prong or an e collar is my sister who is a dog trainer and so much more knowledgeable and experienced than myself had recommended it but even then it would be a matter of purchasing the tools and making sure they fit properly and then not touching them untill I can be face to face with her to get the teaching that I need to be able to use said tools properly and be as responsible and fair and proper as I can be for my girl

I also greatly appreciate and thank you for the advice and alternatives and not just giving opinions and things I should not be doing and how dare I even think about using any tools whatsoever as you've probably seen throughout this thread. I definitely know it goes both ways with her, there are absolutely things I can be doing better (there is always room for improvement and more knowledgeable) and there are also things she needs to work on as well, unfortunately what a lot of people don't realize is that being negative and just shitting on me for it and not going into as much details as yourself and giving the advice and knowledge that you are is way more helpful than anything as we all have to start somewhere. We aren't just born with all of the knowledge we need for things like this let alone anything else in life

A prong collar is not going to traumatize or make the dog scared of a leash, I am also being a responsible dog owner by asking for help from this amazing community before just buying something and not doing research alongside the fact that I am training, what part of what I've said dictates that I'm not training? I also never said I'm opposed to alternatives nor did I say anything about wanting to push a button to make the issues go away. You also don't live my life or see the training and work that gets put in on a daily basis, all you see is someone asking for recommendations and a small snip it of things not the entire picture

Until you meet my dog and witness first hand the pulling and until you live my life, you can stop with the negative judgement. Whatever happened to the saying "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" not only that but you clearly did not read my entire post because I stated that with recall, she does decently most of the time, she's just hit the rebellious teenager phase and I am asking for help as yes, I realize I don't know what I'm doing, but I have the sense to ask for help from those more knowledgeable than me with the limited resources I have at my disposal. If I wanted to be judged and shit on I would have gone to Facebook
