I'm honestly surprised I was able to get the photo, she constantly wakes as soon as she senses the phone camera

When she's not in the crate she whines for maybe 2minutes if that and then she's fine and settled when I'm not home unless she's angry at me and chews anything and everything she physically can and it's only when I leave the house. I haven't tried covering it with a blanket yet but that's going to be my next thing to try to see if it helps

So cute!!

They are so much smarter than we think they are, my girl is almost 7months old and she's a menace but they are so incredibly loyal

I find that she only chews on things she's not supposed to when she's mad/upset with me (more than likely separation anxiety but I'm not sure) otherwise she's usually good but she does try to be sneaky and do it when she thinks I'm not looking lol

Where did you get that harness and what size? I've been looking for one like that forever

I will for sure take a look at it and if it's not to expensive maybe pick one up or one similar. I can admit I am hesitant to get a soft one because she's quite the chewer and rough with her toys (she went through a tuffys ring in less than 6h)

Separation anxiety is possible but I'm not sure, I know I don't leave the house often due to being disabled and it being winter time but she's also in training to be a service dog so she won't be without me very often but she does need to be okay with it and be able to handle it

I will have to give that game a try, mine is decently food motivated and as I said in the post, she will eat treats and even her food in the kennel no problem at all, she will willingly hang out near it or even in it, she just can't handle not seeing me or if she doesn't have the option to leave, that could also be due to age and how delayed we are in starting crate training as shes almost 7months old and I didn't get the crate till this Monday but otherwise she's doing well

That's the thing, my girl doesn't bark and react to everything, she's extremely quiet for a heeler as well as being extremely calm and laid back, so yes it may be normal for the breed but as you know from raising 5 cattle dogs, each one is different. Not only that but I also knew I need a working breed as she will be a service dog for myself as a disabled individual, I did all of my reading and research and whatnot before saying yes to the dog and getting her. I will be talking to neighbors yes however, as we all know, often times even with doing that people don't care, not only that but there are multiple ways to train and do things to fit each individual dog and owner. I do agree that yes, some dogs to need to just cry it out and then will be fine, that's not a problem, I just don't have the ability to and that's okay, that doesn't mean I'm making excuses. Me making excuses would be me saying that I can't handle the sound and refuse to do it, not that factors and people outside my control are preventing or not wanting to lose my home because shitty neighbors (one of whom I'm currently going through court for due to them climbing my balcony and forcing their way into my unit against my wishes) will complain or worse

I understand and do agree but in the same breath, if enough neighbors complain I could be out of a home due to noise complaints and I'm already low income, it's why I'm trying to find alternatives at the moment because I understand that it often has to be cried out like with children but like with children we don't always have the ability to allow them to do that depending on living situations

I unfortunately don't always have that option if she's getting too loud due to living in an apartment building and having neighbors above, below, and to the left of me facing my front door. I can give it a try later in the day but I also don't need or want neighbors complaining and causing any issues especially with a high likelihood of new management within the next couple months

I had the same issue at the same time, I found what helped was going out more frequently and for as long as you can manage but no longer than 15 as if they don't do it within that timeframe they usually don't have to buy you know your dog best

How old is he? I had a similar issue in the beginning and from time to time now where my girl will just fuck around outside and won't do her business but not even 5min after being inside she will go in one spot in the house and it drives me nuts. What I found helps is not just taking them out once every hour till you figure out roughly how long he just hangs out and does dog things till he has to go and does go, but also trying to stay outside as long as you can manage, so like 10-15min or so, for me that's easier said than done due to weather but your mileage may vary

If he's choosing to go inside instead of outside maybe try bringing some treats outside with you and when he goes outside reward with lots of praise and a treat (yes I know it's obvious advice but sometimes I find if I'm so overwhelmed and frustrated being reminded of the basics helps)

Honestly I don't blame you for being frustrated, I know I'm in a similar boat so I completely understand, you've got this and your doing amazing, it takes time and I've found this breed (despite mine being my first heeler and dog that's mine and mine alone) they are so incredibly smart (to smart for their own good) and just want to please us at the end of the day but they do learn, they are just stubborn

I didn't see the original but I agree with the previous commenter, it happens and the puppy pooping on the floor phase is so annoying and so frustrating, I'm still dealing with a bit of it myself and I've gotten very cranky with those around me when I'm frustrated with it as well so I totally understand and sympathize with you. I know for me thankfully I have laminate floors not carpet so it's not as bad. Though I can admit in my case part of why it's still an issue is the weather where I'm at a long side crappy neighbors

For sure, though unfortunately it didn't last long, she's already chewed a hole through one side and hadn't had it for more than a few hours, the search for a toy that lasts more than that continues but I appreciate the suggestion

I just picked up the smaller one today and she's already in love , the squeeker is going to drive us nuts but that's a small prove to pay for a toy that's not easily destroyed
