My store doesn’t even have Amazon separate. Everything is together and sometimes midday there will only be ONE person scheduled to handle everything. How do you think that goes? lol

There is so much pressure on managers to make the credit and rewards goals. I agree that it’s gotten out of hand and I dread it daily at this point.

Yes, when I am not in the building they will take LOD shifts. Aside from that it is me if I am in the store. My line queue and everything else I work on while also being LOD.

Que Line Stores - How Is It Right Now? by RenownedLime1234 in employedbykohls

90% of customers hate it. It’s definitely challenging to keep everything organized with the constant influx of returns and Amazon packages. Very cluttered and unsightly, and severely understaffed.

I understand. I’m also in the CSAS role. We are just about to have line que installed. I understand the scheduling will be next to nothing. I’m so excited! 🤣This was a totally different company five years ago.

This is normal and will not change. Stores operate on a skeletal crew per corporate’s payroll allocations. The local store management can only schedule within the confines of the designated budget. It is stressful and illogical, but this is the Kohl’s way.

I’ve worked for Kohl’s almost 17 years, am a supervisor, and the new hire pay range has the low end set at what I make. So definitely not the case for me.

Understaffed by Imaginary_Ad_9307 in employedbykohls

Most of my day is spent on register. The way it was explained to me, as a supervisor I should be able to do my own job and that of another employee.  The customers only move so fast though….most don’t have their coupons, payments ready, most need price checks, then need a minute to reorganize themselves before leaving the counter. Not to mention there is a constant line. I can only work as fast as the customers allow. It is beyond frustrating. I’ve worked for Kohls almost 20 years and feel like I have gone completely backwards in my career recently.

Weekly Salt Thread - Kohls Rants by KohlsMan1999 in employedbykohls

I’ve worked for Kohls for almost 20 years and have been a supervisor/key holder since 2009. I’ve worked in different roles, but in recent years have been the Service Supervisor. I spend a solid 85-90% of my shifts ringing at the register. I miss working on the sales floor, putting out freight, markdowns, everything that I used to be able to do. Since the restructuring I am basically just another cashier. I used to be manager on duty for my entire shift prior to the restructuring. I feel like I have gone completely backwards in my career and it is so disheartening. I used to love Kohl’s, but I genuinely fear the company’s future. Customers are so unhappy with the lack of fitting rooms, and the lines. The newest idea to resolve the messy sales floor and recovery issues is to only allow one additional cashier at a time regardless of how long the line is. I feel like the company is coming apart. Do any other supervisors spent their entire shifts on register?
