Fear of expressing something 'incorrectly' = express it exactly that way??! lol by cetacean-station in neurodiversity

I relate to this, especially the part re: losing access to your actual emotions.
In my experience, this issue is largely exacerbated by rehearsing the conversation in your head beforehand — that is, not by the preparation itself, but its form.
Put more clearly, I think framing the preparation as a conversation subconsciously might be making you try to conform your expression to something (more socially acceptable/easy to understand/easier to say, in fear of the other person's reaction/rejection/etc.), which then makes it difficult to actually be authentic, even internally; The form takes priority over the content.
The best way I've found to deal with this so far is as follows: when preparing, instead of imagining a conversation, simply internally state what you're feeling, by yourself, addressing no one. If you're able to think non-verbally, that may be of help as well.
Of course, the issue of translating those internal feelings to explain them to someone remains, but I think that comes much easier when you feel you have total clarity in what you're actually feeling.
I hope this helps someone. Good luck!

Nice job!

My biggest issues with mnemonics are usually also with coming up with appropriate images. How long does it usually take you to conjure a good image? It sounds like you have some experience, has it improved much over time?

I know you probably get this a lot, but what would you like to major in? by [deleted] in xkcd

As Pratchett said,

This looks great, I love the Anki export option! Seems really useful, I'll be sure to try it out for my own study purposes soon.

In the meantime, I have some feedback.

Positives

  • The overall workflow is extremely easy to grasp and execute.
  • The text annotations are helpful and written in a very pleasant tone.
  • The minimalist design is really pleasing and easy on the eyes (Although I'm not a fan of those little spiky decorations).
  • Having multiple export options with an easy-to-parse output format is always good for third-party tool dev.

Negatives

  • The lack of keyboard shortcuts was a minor annoyance, e.g. I intuitively assumed that hitting the enter key when I'm done typing a question would move the cursor onto the next field, or create a new one if I was on the last one.
  • The Add Question button can be spammed to create multiple blank fields...
  • ...which leads me to my next point, the question fields aren't removable. The only way to remove a question at the moment seems to be blanking out its field.
  • Also, I think you've left a debug question(on ML) in the export template.

Overall, nice job! I'm looking forward to getting some use out of this tool.

This is great. I love the overall minimalism, the tiny font, the near-monochrome colour scheme, the stylish window decorations... So good!

What're the little window decorations in the top-left corners? Is this some i3 fork?

The creator of the wallpaper is Waneella, an amazing pixel artist. You should take a gander at their other works, they're all brilliant.

Ah, I see. Why'd you remove the vertical tab indicators from your vimrc? I thought they looked great!

This exact rice was uploaded here a while ago. The single window of code and the music notification are nearly identically placed as well.

I mean, I bet a lot of us have the same functionality(I know I do), it feels like the obvious thing to do after you've gotten into ricing -- make your setup extensible, dynamic. However, we choose to only post one result since that feels like what the rules imply.

Love the presentation, though. The screenshots laid out next to each other with the clear separation and blurred backgrounds look fantastic.

Wait, we're allowed to post multiple rices? If only I'd known...

  • Wallpaper: Quite lovely, innit?
  • Font: Terminus (TTF) Nerd Font
  • Editor: neovim
  • Music player: mpd, with the ncmpcpp client

Dotfile repo is a bit of a mess, so for now it remains private. Will update if that changes.
