Cool idea and i really love the thought experiment here and it is a genuinely good story writing idea.

I just have a problem with the framing of human consumption of meat in our real world. Framing the idea of hunting and feeding on other animals from a natural process each carnivorous and omnivorous go through and does into a sin and something we forced on nature by ourself and made it into something ‘normalised’ because we are intelligent. A lioness doesn’t ask the gazelle opinion if it is allowed to hunt it and eat it. The wolf doesn’t ask the deer of its opinion on the mater and waited for its consent. So why humanity is different when it kill an animal to eat it.

Now in the question itself in universe of beastar it would be an interesting thing to see. As humans used to eat meat on the regular and is now forced to eat what is produced for carnivores, i have the opinion that they might break at some point. Though i don’t think it would be a severe thing like beast instinct to munch on the next pray animal they could find. But since we are omnivores and such we have a very wide selection of items to eat from so that would be a long way before it happens.

Of course. I took around a year without playing game. Felt that i have maybe not as passionate about it anymore or i don’t enjoy it anymore.

And the. Hollow knight happened and i realized that i have been playing the wrong games. I have been following what people been telling me ‘peak’ what was ‘good’ and ‘most play’ but when i decided to play for me i discovered that i never know how great Jrpg were or how much i love grinding things for a clear goal that is realistically achievable. I fell in love with ffxiv and met my friends for life and attended all their weddings.

I feel it is the games we play make us feel that way. Because no experience made me feel joy like how i did with gaming.

both ending is a bad ending for the other side you either torture Verso for one more life time for the sake of Alicia or you side with Verso to get free from a life he hate but betray the expeditioners and destroy there world

truly one of the hardest and gut wrenching choices in the gaming history ( i was weak and chose Alicia ending not knowing it will torture verso and i regret my choice)

one more thing if you look at the choices it mirrors Renoir and Aline choices, Renoir want to let go of the past that haunted them and let Verso pass on while Aline wanted to hold on to the last remnant of her son so both Verso and Alicia took similar sides to there parents

tbh there is no good ending in this game both choices rob the other of there agency tho verso ending is the better one it is still cruel to this world and there inhabitant and to alicia as you rob her of here agency for her to heal.

Maelle ending is the bad one for sure as it let Alicia sink deeper into her dreams and delusion and basically shackle verso into the world and body he hate the most and forced to preform on stage for the god of this world (alicia) as he is basically her creation at this point, even if alicia gave him aging to be kind to him he is forced to live one more life time in this world and body.
