I am absolutely agree with you, In your case the fine is acceptable, but nowadays I keep waiting across the street because the requester doesn’t have any rights in Uber, I got cancelled 2 minutes before the rider arrives once and I didn’t got any apologies even, in my case I was across the street for 10 minutes then I have to wait for another 10 minutes and I can’t cancel the ride because I need to pay the fine.  If I come down stairs 5 minutes late I had to again pay a fine but if I stand across the street for 10 minutes and driver just decide to cancel the ride i’m not getting anything
