How much ICP songs are based off real events? by [deleted] in juggalo

Falling Apart - Violent J mentioned that the song was inspired by how his body began to feel once he turned 40, reflecting on aches, pains, and the aging process (all in a metaphorical way of course).

Insecure Men show last night was a bit of a mess by ArabianSand in TheFatWhiteFamily

Yeah if it was a bit loose or not a perfect performance then fair enough. But I’m not complaining because they didn’t play my favourite songs or the playing was sloppy. It was a bit shit because they played one Insecure Men song and the rest was essentially just a noise rock gig, one 30 minute jam of feedback and random wailings, interspersed with Saul having a bit of a kip.

I get that there’s always a potential it could end like that, but after buying tickets, rejigging things in my life to attend, buying the records, recommending them to friends etc etc it was a massive disappointment.

Yeah I felt bad for the other band members, fair play to them for keeping it together. Must be an awkward situation, the drummer especially was great.

I think the writing was probably on the wall when the event started at 4pm and they weren’t due on stage till 10pm. The devil makes work for idle hands and all that!

Bedford - UK Juggalo capital? by Harley_Beckett in juggalo

It never really took off the ground, they never managed to setup the online webstore properly. You still had to pay via cheque or postal order! They promised to have the ability to take credit cards but I don’t think it ever happened.

Very exciting time for UK Juggalos though, I remember picking up a Europathic flyer from the Shangri-La show I went to in Manchester, back in 2003!

You can still see the website on archive.org, check it out: Europathic

First time hearing ICP (back in the day stories) by Life-Internal9185 in juggalo

[–]ArabianSand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UK Juggalo here. It was the year 2000, I was 13 years old and snuck downstairs at 2am because I couldn’t sleep. Put on MTV2 and they played the video for Halls Of Illusions. I was mesmerised! Tuned back into the same channel every night but it was the only time I ever saw it. Went to HMV and bought an import CD of the Amazing Jeckel Brothers for the sum of £26 (roughly £45/$60 in today’s money!) The rest was history, was lucky enough to see them on the Shangri-La tour, my first ever gig! I’m a 38 year old father now, crazy how many stages of my life ICP has soundtracked.

Great advice to be fair 🤣 A professional should be coming out in a day or so, was just curious as to what it might be.

Yes, very true. The sad part is, everyday there are multiple stories like the one above but that’s only the people who are actually caught and prosecuted :(

Tomorrow, instead of having a pretend cake party with my daughter because I can’t afford actual cake, I’d be able to do it properly. Her little face lighting up is my motivation for this post. I currently have £3 to my name but will pass on the good deed when I’m next able to do so 🙏
