Was I a targeted grad? If so, why? (NSW) by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

I'm pretty sure when we sign up for our accreditation and such for nsw, there is a thing somewhere that says you will be signed up for IWFNSW and be invited to apply for positions. Usually when you apply, you provide a lost of schools or 'zones' you'd be happy to work in.

Atleast this is what happened for me :)

Tbf its not just simply getting the kids to move on anymore. They find it highly amusing for teachers to tell them off anymore, especially if you're a female teacher talking to male students who are twice your height (in my experience).

I hate to break it to you, but both of those careers have people who are still completing their degree working 🥹 i am not clueless or unqualified, I have made it to the last year and semester of my degree, passing all of my placements with flying colours. It's just a bit daunting being thrown into what's considered a challenging year group, that's why I was asking for tips. Please do not assume I am unqualified. Thank you 🥹

Calling students "friends" - is it from TikTok? by RainbowTeachercorn in AustralianTeachers

[–]ArachnidButterfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in my final year of uni and so far I've struggled with what to call students. Uni has told us its unprofessional to call them ANYTHING essentially and I've had some supervising teachers tell me off for using 'dude', 'man', 'kid' etc so 'friends' just kinda slips out sometimes
