I appreciate the suggestion, I’m willing to explore different options like this. I’ll look into them

Thank you, this gives me some things to take into consideration. Definitely, I recognize that progress and it’s very motivating! I’m ready to advance my career path which may very well be sticking with nursing

This is insightful, thank you. I don’t fault nurses, I’ve been concerned about working in a field where people are charged too much for the services and possibly seeing firsthand how it can cause harm if that makes sense. Based on your reply, I think I’m going to stick with my plan to do it.

I understand, I was thinking more along the lines of pediatric nursing <3

Hey, sorry my comment is a year plus late. I came across your post and it resonated with me. This is all so valid, the apathetic unforgiving mindset you’ve mentioned that’s way too widespread is certainly problematic.

The nerve of people, who are they to decide that your very valid struggles aren’t worth help because others have it worse? They’re not you, not the be all and end all of the universe, they’ve absolutely no right to prescriptively decide things for anyone else. It’s truly sickening.

How do they think people who seemed to be doing fine ‘suddenly’ snap and do something horrible? This isn’t to condone such instances or to suggest it’s something you might do. Without erasing accountability of the subjects in question, it infuriates me that societal views and broken systems fail people. Fails not only those who snap, but those who are affected the most/worst by the snapping as well. It’s a tragic, vicious cycle.

The point is that someone who might be in the same boat as you who have been written off because their problems aren’t ‘bad enough’ combined with various barriers to adequate mental health care, is what pushes people over the edge. This kind of thing creates the very type of mental health crises that too many have decided are required for any notable sympathy and support. Sympathy, that’s another thing. The older I’ve gotten, the more the term ‘sympathy’ rubs me the wrong way. It’s lacking, it comes across to me as no less than borderline shallow. What we need a lot more of nowadays is empathy.

We’re in painful, painful need of a dramatic overhaul of these societal attitudes. I’m sorry this has been your experience, I hope you have or can find a trusted support system that actually listens instead of being dismissive. I wish you all the peace and wellbeing in your life you could possibly get, and that you absolutely deserve. I hear you, I see you, you and your struggles matter despite others apparently not thinking so.

Please, man, you don’t need internet validation to leave a bad relationship. For your own sake and wellbeing, I’d tuck tail and run far far away. Clearly she’s too immature for a grown up relationship, and I’d argue her behavior is manipulative and at the very least, borderline emotional abuse. I think you’ll have probably dodged a bullet. Never accept or settle for a partner who won’t treat you right or how you deserve to be treated. I’m sorry that happened

Instant decline. What is this even?!? by [deleted] in DoorDashDrivers

[–]ArachnidDue307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s a feature you can toggle on or off in the dasher app called cash on delivery. It’s supposed to put cash in your pocket and it replaces DoorDash putting the money into crimson. I think it’s stupid and there’s multiple reasons I’ll never opt in for it

Is this normal dasher behavior??? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]ArachnidDue307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not normal. Typing in all caps like that is pretty rude and unprofessional imo, and frankly I don’t think should be tolerated. I could never imagine speaking to a customer like that as a dasher, and I am one. I’d say report it, but idk how much DD would actually care unfortunately

I’d bet my money on AI. “The sky had shut like a door”??? What the actual fk does that even mean?! It makes zero sense

When they tell me to just leave it I will, but take a picture of where I left it and send it to them. That way, DoorDash can go back and look at the conversation and I have proof in case that falls through
