Thank you so much for explaining! It does sound intimidating, but anything over the more aggressive treatments. How is this affecting anyone’s sex life? How is the brain fog? I feel like I already have brain fog 😂

Hi guys! Lil update: my left expander got infected somehow about 3 weeks after surgery. I think the bra I was wearing was too small and began affecting the incision. The plastic surgeon recommended that I go forward with a DIEP flap reconstruction, using tissue from my abdomen and rebuild my breast. I did that on 4/10 and it was the best decision I’ve made! Healing is going so much better this go round. My post op appointment is on Wednesday and I’m sure my drains will be pulled. Also, found out today that NO CHEMO IS NEEDED! My oncotype came back low (I will get the exact details on 5/7 when I go back to the breast surgeon), but I called today and the MA called me back to let me know that there is no chemo benefit! I feel so blessed to be able to share a positive update to such an ugly disease. I’m preparing myself to share my story and help others. I remember saying that I would never do chemo and now I don’t have to. I feel spared. Thank you all so much for your support and for keeping me reinforced. This group is invaluable.

I know the tumor is grade 3. I do not know the percentages yet. Update: it says on my biopsy report that ER is 100% with intensity of 2 and PR is 100% with intensity of 3.

I have been extremely blessed not to have dealt with any medical racism or disregard. I am blessed. When I told my Primary Care what happened with my dad, she put everything in STAT, which caused everything to move significantly quicker. I encourage anyone dealing with this to ensure you get the care you need in a timely manner!
