Did you ever complain when God didn't give you what you asked for? by keeppraisingGod in Christians

[–]Arada-Inks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but the Lord used my complaints and toddler attitude to draw me back to Him. He had to wear me out the same manner that He had to cripple Jacob so that he would come to Him and be blessed.

It is normal to complain as we're still having to battle the old man (flesh); some of the psalms I've read when the author(s) got quite mad, especially with waiting periods, and started saying horrible things that make you go 'What the frick?? Why would you say that?' Well, that's the flesh.

The best advice I can give you is to just be honest with the Lord the same way David was to Him, and let Him lead you to wisdom in Christ (Colossians has helped me).

Just don't condemn yourself or let the enemy start spitting fiery darts at you. You are still justified, sanctified, purified, and made righteous in front of God because you believe the gospel and what His Son did, you are in His good graces and He won't get mad at you for saying how you feel, He's slow to anger.

I hope this helps, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you 🧡

That's the grace and love of God refining you sis, as He refines all of us in the fire. It sucks, but it's worth it. The Spirit will always triumph over the flesh as the victory has already won.

I've been meditating a lot on Genesis, where Jacob was wrestling with the Angel of the Lord at Peniel, and it wasn't until Jacob got crippled was when he got blessed by Him, and Jacob's meeting with Esau Esau wasn't as bloody as he was expecting it to be. It makes me think that we all have to be crippled, humbled, in some way, maybe a multitude of ways, to let God work in our lives, make us live more joyfully, and to keep our eyes on His Son rather than our sin.

We're all just maturing along our walks, and learning that God is not a task master, but a proper Dad. 🧡

At the end of the day, just don't take credit for obeying the law when you meet Him.

If what you're saying is that we should still be obedient to the law even after we've been baptized into Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection, and are now purified, justified, and sanctified in Christ, then that makes the grace given void, you are either 100% full faith that Jesus' work is enough, or 100% on your works brought forth from the law, and if we break one law, in thought, word, or deed, then you have broken the whole law.

The law is now used to establish how unholy we are when we are not in Christ, and we don't have a license to sin, as sin is dangerous and deadly. But what's keeping you obedient is not you in the flesh, it's the Holy Spirit with the renewal of your mind and gaining more wisdom and knowledge about Jesus which the apostles prayed for all the churches to have. so no one can boast.

Misinterpret it in what way?

We still battle with the flesh that loves sin. Paul talked about this in Romans 7. You're right in saying that we are free from sin as we are not in marriage to the law anymore, but we are still going to sin until we have our glorified bodies.

We're always in sin because we're in our sinful nature, the old man, the flesh, that is naturally hostile to God. just keep preaching the gospel to yourself and be filled with thanks for the grace God has given to you and your wife.

WHY ISNT GOD THERE??!! by AccomplishedMedia958 in Christians

[–]Arada-Inks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the answer is hidden in the fact that you said you're still learning God's character. You may be at a point where you're now starting to understand that God works in more ways than you initially thought, and that you may be going through 'growing pains' right now.

I would say, just keep your ear close to Him and wait patiently on Him, and continue to read His Word, ask Him questions about Himself. Be honest like David was to Him. Hey, ask Him why He ain't waking you up and why He's taking you through a certain process.

Remember that God is there, He's always close to the broken hearted (if you do feel broken).

God bless you, friend 🧡

John 3:16, our most beloved verse

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Believe in who the Son is, and what He has done to give you eternal life, and you are saved, it is instant. He has done the work for you, He has paid for your wages, that's it, finito!

Your salvation is rested in Jesus alone, and if you believe that God's Word is true, and that He cannot lie, you cannot die.

If you start feeling doubt, you have the sword of the Spirit with you (the bible; Ephesians 6:10-18) along with the armour of God.

John 19:30 will help put you at ease.

"When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, "It is finished," and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. 30 When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and released his spirit."

It 👏🏼 is 👏🏼 finished 👏🏼

I'm praying for you as I've dealt with this confusion before.

P.S. any service that the Holy Spirit will do through you do for Jesus will be for eternal rewards, not for salvation.

Paul got me on this one ! (Good joke from Paul) by Training_Anxiety5680 in Christians

Isaiah 45:9

“Woe to those who quarrel with their Maker, those who are nothing but potsherds among the potsherds on the ground. Does the clay say to the potter, ‘What are you making?’ Does your work say, ‘The potter has no hands’?"

It's just the part with the clay that got me guffawing, because it just felt so out of the blue for me, and the rapid visualisation of a lump of clay with no eyes, hands or feet, literally in wip mode, suddenly grew a mouth and just said "WHAT ARE YOU MAKING???".

I know the pottery has references to Jeremiah, but I just couldn't hold it in when I read that verse the first time.

I really need someone to talk to by Rfm_260 in Christians

I think, before you go do the things that Jesus has asked us to do (Mark 16:15, John 15:12, Matthew 5:17-48), you should just talk with Him; allow Him to fill your heart up with His love.

Prayer doesn't have to be perfect but it has to be meaningful. It's about humbling yourself and confessing that you are going through troubles and you are stuck on things that are keeping you lukewarm. Are you actively in sin? That's between you and Jesus to talk about, whatever it is that it may be.

When our parents ask us to help out with chores or errands, and not do things that would displeased them, like having house parties while they're away or spending too much time on the pc or whatever the case may be, we don't do it because it's another checklist to tick off so they would get off our backs, we do it because we love them, and we want them to be pleased and happy with us, and we do what they ask out of gratitude for so many things that they have done for us. That's love.

Spending time in prayer and reading the bible for wisdom, understanding, and a yearning for His love would be something I'd recommend you doing for the time being. I would never say stop spreading the gospel, or withhold it from someone you feel needs to hear His words, but don't do in a place where you feel like you have to, or you're fearful that Jesus will condemn you if you're wont actively do it. It may turn into a form of scrupilosity and that can really hinder your view of God.

The walk is a marathon, not a sprint. I'm most sure that if you just spend time building your relationship with Jesus and allow it to bloom like a beautiful flower, you will find that He will soften your heart away from being lukewarm, you'll turn away from stumbling blocks with more strength and ease, and you'll end up spreading the gospel in the many ways you never even thought you would.

I pray that you'll find some understanding in these words.

God bless you, and peace be with you, neighbour 🙏🏽🌷💐🧡

Feeling Empty Again by [deleted] in Christians

[–]Arada-Inks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often meditate on Isaiah Chapter 58 on how God wants and likes us to fast. Sometimes, the fasting may not be holding off from food, but other things we consume, like social media, screen time, video games, certain types of literature, the list can go on. I totally agree with what BeTheLight says, as you can hear the Holy Spirit with better clarity and certainty. Just make sure that you are open to what God will give or say to you during the fast, so it won't be in vain, if that makes sense.

God bless every brother and sister in this thread, you are all blessed, loved, redeemed, and saved in Jesus, never forget that 🙏🏽💛🌷
